I'm saying anon that rules have very little meaning without enforcement. If you have a problem with users being banned or posts and threads removed them your complaint is against the rules. Or else you suggest rules simply exist in a meaningless state where they are not enforced.

So you're against people being able to filter or block other people or content?

                Anonymous

right. As in, blocking the content to yourself.
It's one thing if it were something like spam that actively ruins the function of a website, but something like an annoying thread once in a while or an annoying comment from a twitter fag occasionally should be learned to be dealt with emotionally(as in, don't let your emotions get the better of you).

                Anonymous

That's generally good advice, but I'm still strongly in favor of users being able to curate their own experience. Moreover removing the ability to block users would be extremely abused. I suspect (but cannot verify with any certainty) most blocks and filters used are for things like spam, bots, ads and the like. I'm extremely annoyed by being woken up by phone calls at 6 am that are are just spam of some kind.
Here on Cinemaphile, I'm not someone who uses such filters, but they do serve a purpose. Dealing with threads with "hot takes" and such is one thing. Troll threads that are low effort that always repeat the same post are another and are in my smelly opinion closer to spam. In this specific instance, then OP didn't post an honest opinion or at the very least not one they wanted to engage other people with. Just trolling really. It's less an honest opinion and more a case of saying something to get a rise out of people.

                Anonymous

                >Troll threads that are low effort that always repeat the same post are another and are in my smelly opinion closer to spam.
it's not if it is in low quantity and people can avoid having it appear if they were to learn to ignore it. Like, back before /mlp/ was a thing, the pony fans would make so many threads, that half of /toon/ would be just ponies, now THAT was spam, which, as I said before, actively ruins the function of this board then. But a bait thread, while annoying, is just that, annoying. You notice it, ignore it and move on to any of the other 100 threads on /toon/
If it triggers you so much that you feel the need to filter it or call out the person and actively make a big deal about it, then the problem lies within you.

The obvious solution is to kill all leftists.

                Anonymous

Right, but that cuts both ways. If OP is going to troll or shitpost, then they have to be prepared for people expressing their opinion on their post.
To suggest that if you don't like nor agree with a post it should just be ignored would mean threads would have no posts disagreeing with or expressing a contrary opinion. Which is not discussion. It's masturbation.
Any discourse that admonishes dissent being expressed is antithetical to the expression of the free exchange of ideas. Challenging an opinion you disagree with and not simply ignoring it isn't an issue. It's healthy for all involved as long as it's somewhat productive. However, trying to argue with someone who is disingenuous, cantankerous or obstinate is less a matter of being thin skinned and more a matter of wasting time with being frustrated with a fruitless endeavor. It's not a matter of toughening up in those cases. It's a matter of simple pointlessness.

The season 2 finales for Owl House and Amphibia were practically the same.

I haven't seen the season 2 Finale of Owl House.

Does it literally have a minor villain fake having turned good in order to further their own goals, while it is revealed that a seemingly benign character was the big bad all along, that this character secretly had a doomsday weapon awaiting the possibility to travel the multiverse, that another seemingly friendly character had set the events of the whole series into motion because they wanted to preserve some seemingly harmless but selfish goal only to then get betrayed by the fake ally right before the heroes are sent to earth and seemingly trapped there despite the urgency to return.

Oh, and more crucially (if this really is on the same level as a David Wise rehash), how many scenes use the exact same events and how close is the dialogue to being identical? No seriously, how likely is it that both finales didn't just use a similar premise but started out as the same exact script with alterations only made to make the plot fit?

Why do I get the feeling there's some anon with a weird grudge against a cartoon writer from the 80s?

You're obviously a shill if you think you'll go back to cartoon communities and people are still discussing 80s cartoons like they did when the people who grew up with them were in their 20s, in the 00s

Although it could be that they are simply unable to discuss how much better things like Ren and Stimpy and Dexter were than their cartoons

TMNT and Thundercats had incredibly solid design work but were terrible as actual cartoons. Ghostbusters is the only good all-rounder in that lineup.

no animators today are just shit
you look back at he-man and for all it's faults the're a least trying to make the vallejo-elmore like hero he-man is meant to be
even for all the corner cutting and recycling at the time

animators now are stuck in a retarded double think where they believe the're too good to be using the tips and tricks for animating complex and detailed caracters used before
only to turn around and make the most flat souless no effort "art style" you ever seen that could be swapped with any other artist from their twitter male feminist chat group because drawing gives them anxiety, depression and aids

he-man was made as a toy commercial first
      it had more money

        Anonymous

the franchise had money not the cartoon

and my point still stands modern animators are just talentless hacks
for all the flak og he-man gets recycling animation it the smart thing to do
animation can't compete with live action at all so unless you hit it big like rick and morty or have the merchandise to make up the deference like ben 10 you'll have to work smarter not harder

that's why weebs will always slap some 30sec 200frame clip of some guy charging up an attack made by 8 deferent animators in your face to tell you the japanese do it better all the why'll ignoring the fact the any time that same caracter talks we get a panning shot of back of his head to cheepout on animating his lips

because they're right to do so if corner cutting let's you have well made and stricking character design and give you the time and energy to let you do the big set piece scenes people actually want to watch do that

the "unrestrained creativity" of latching off the toy commercials of yesteryear just to survive

the "unrestrained creativity" of having the frist ever gay kiss in a cartoon for the 9th time

the "unrestrained creativity" of scripting a dnd session you never had real friends to play
and going to the prom you never went to

meanwhile the toy commercials of yesteryear have more lore, plot, backstory and character on the back of their boxart than any professional twitter shithead have ever made in their whole alphabetmen carchud
