This sequel is more likely to be the "Empire Strikes Back" of Avatar where the humans hit back and win for the most part. But yea, humans likely to lose in the third movie which is how trilogies usually go. Maybe Cameron has something unusual in store since he wants it to be so many movies.
In the end they will show that the Navi were once a spacefaring nation with overwhelming tech but decided to go full Hippie and " back to Nature ". And Eywa will be an advanced A.I. their forerunners created. And of course this tech will defeat humanity forces and force them into a peace treaty/submission.
