this is where 2d animation would be king
it is truly a tragedy that the medium of adult animation is only viable in japan. they have the autistic ability to grind out cell after cell of beautiful art but their story telling and acting (even voice acting) is fricking atrocious.
haha yeah you're absolutely right
except not cgi
not that art style
not that colour palette
no gimmicky celebrity VA's
and not that studio who paints every 3rd person black
so actually nothing like what you mentioned.
>cherrypicks the OP of a show which always has higher production value than the show itself
even god tier studios like Sunrise have massive quality difference between the OP and the actual show
Messiah was the best book. crime plot to kill the emporer of the universe who can also see all possible futures. cant beat a premise like that, to bad you wouldnt be able to adapt it.
>Duncan is the real hero of the series.
If only it came about better than the very last scene where a paul clone goes >duncan you were the chosen one all along, not me!
And then he just realizes this and melds with robots. Like wtf? They literally did the same plot as leto did with the worms but executed it terribly
Short answer: The Golden Path
He saw that humanity gravitates towards hero worship, political salvation, and strongmen, and thought it needed to be weened off of that desire. So he became the worst tyrant he could possibly imagine to beat the idea out of people's head. It needed to be so deep and thorough as to be entrenched in human genetic memory - so he rules like a c**t for 50,000 years or something (forgot the exact number) just to ultimately make humanity never want something like him or his kind again.
His son finished it from his dad's notes at least. And other friends have said Herbert wanted something along the lines that those extra stories turned out (basically a more spread out, democratic universe).
>His son finished it from his dad's notes at least
No he didn't, he just made shit up to make a quick buck off his father's work. It was so bad that it set a precedent for authors to put a clause in their wills preventing even their own family members from ever touching their work.
I never heard anything like that.
It seems like a natural development to his storey though. He had already cast all the other machinations of the story's factions in a bad light (like the Bene Gesserit themselves orchestrating breeding programs to create a super being). Why would he want to repeat the same shit everyone was striving for already?

Dude the retconned the sentient face dancers at the very end of Franks last book into robots. The entire thing is different than where it was going
For every Christopher Tolkein there is a shameless grifter like Brian Herbert squeezing his father's corpse for more money.
Lovecraft actually encouraged other writers to make more Cthulu Mythos shit up while he was still alive, seems the way to go. You can always take the purist route and ignorgytpje it as fanfiction.
He only ruled for about 3000 years. Also every single future where he didn't rule and do the things he did ended with human extinction due to killer robots, which was a big part of his desire to stay on the Golden Path.
It was two pronged, he also breeded out the ability for the time seeing hunter-seekers to be able to track humans after he died, so humans wouldn't go extinct from that, which is what killed all humans in all timelines other than if he ruled.
What does a guy like that DO every day, being stuck there and all? No net, no games. Just sitting there, seething. Pretty shit life. No wonder he was angry.
Same. To be fair, those are actually not bad. But the vast majority of covers these days are really cheap looking stock photoshop shit. I miss the days of real covers made by real illustrators
I have this scene in my head when all the fish speakers are concentrated on a single planet for the ceremony, this scene plays:
Planet wide sea of military formations, booming military choir, cheers, starships orbiting, everest sized pedestal, continent spanning booming voice... best depiction of a god on earth.
reading the book i never got any real sense of how the character would actually look. The current film design for sandworms makes it pretty hard to imagine how it would look merged to a human
the face-dancers would have been the "villains" in the seventh book if Herbert ever actually wrote it.
thats assuming the series would have been :
Dune Trilogy
than god emperor
another dune trilogy
but Frank died before finishing the finale book

The studio that animated Invincible with British or American VAs would be the best way to adapt the book.

Yes, with the right budget
anything past Messiah would suck.
Messiah itself sucked
Messiah was the best book. crime plot to kill the emporer of the universe who can also see all possible futures. cant beat a premise like that, to bad you wouldnt be able to adapt it.
Messiah is better than Dune.
God emperor is better than all other dune books
That's where it got to be great though. Duncan is the real hero of the series.

What was his fricking problem?

Had Frank Hebert finished the seventh book then the golden path would have probably been another lie.
His son finished it from his dad's notes at least. And other friends have said Herbert wanted something along the lines that those extra stories turned out (basically a more spread out, democratic universe).

It's been a long time since I read, but I was way off.
That made for TV miniseries with young James McAvoy was basically Messiah and Children together, so yeah, it could be done as a single long movie.
It was two pronged, he also breeded out the ability for the time seeing hunter-seekers to be able to track humans after he died, so humans wouldn't go extinct from that, which is what killed all humans in all timelines other than if he ruled.
Normies and execs wouldn't approve
What does a guy like that DO every day, being stuck there and all? No net, no games. Just sitting there, seething. Pretty shit life. No wonder he was angry.
Should Children of Dune be split into two films or can it just be one long three hour length movie?
I hate these new covers

Excuse me while I post the only God Emperor that matters - also his adaptation would be a lot cooler than Dune's
He wouldn't exist at all if it weren't for Dune.
wasn't the whole neo-feudal empire of man in Warhammer 40k heavily inspired by the Dune cycle?
Almost everything was inspired by Dune
I bet Leto II and Big E would be buddies.
No because Leto II is actually competent.
Only if the fans have a hand in writing it.

Absolutely not
>there are people who actually read his sons books
Why waste your time on fanfiction
