I think this is why all the shitflinging about what Lucas would have done is pointless, though, and the pedestal some people put him on is absurd. We all know if Disney had made Leia the Chosen One and made Darth Maul the villain prequelfags would have cried foul.
QRD: He's an idiot, because normal people know that every piece of media that bore the Lucasfilm/LucasArts logo prior to Disney went through a vetting process at Skywalker Ranch.
The vetting process was for the sake of the brand's integrity, not because it had to line up with Lucas's personal creative instincts. To the extent the EU kept itself consistent (mostly) and was officially licensed it could be called "canon," but it was always a contingent kind of canon. Lucas could do what he wanted at any time. TCW wiped out a lot of material even when that stuff was all fresh (remember: AOTC came out in 2002 and TCW debuted in 2008).
First thing you need to do is get the IP put of Disney's death grip. Nothing else matters if you can't get that. Next, remove KK from power and consolidate a passionate crew at Lucasfilms to ensure no one will torch the franchise for fun. Shunt the sequels oof to their own corner, give them the Legends treatment. Start filming a faithful, live action Thrawn Trilogy that kicks off a new and improved EU, with recast Han, Luke and Leia. George can be a consultant for new alien species, planets and the like.
That gif is a Robot Chicken skit. George had his own tier of canon, which i believe is as follows:

I'm sure the hope when Disney started a new canon was to take what worked and throw away what didn't work from the EU. Instead, they threw away what worked and kept what didn't work to create an even more fucked up mess.
Only, and I mean only, if George Lucas buys the company back and fires every last Lucasfilm employee. All of them must be purged. He can then erase all the Disney and Filoni garbage, reinstate the EU, and make his own sequels (likely animated since the cast are too old or dead now). This is the only path to achieve that.

They can love people — if fact, they should love everybody. They should love their enemies; they should love the Sith. But they can't form attachments. real easy to let go of stuff when you're a billionaire and can just buy more
Considering his age and the risk and the prophecy, and the fact that the Order was sitting on centuries of wealth, the sensible thing was to ease his young retard slave conscience by shelling out to free his mother Shmi. They practically asked for it not doing so.
Lucas's sequels would have tread all over the EU just as hard as the sequels we got just like TCW did (and to some extent even the prequel trilogy). That's not the only reason they jettisoned the EU, but it's a massive part.
Break up Disney and Lucasfilm into separate companies
Probably fire KK
Keep a Star Wars story group of professional writers. Make sure they have at least read some EU before hiring them, so they don’t copy it.
**Don’t allow directors to create the story, like KK did**
Use the SW style guidelines from 1994
Make a character and set design guide for each new planet, so it doesn’t look like Last Jedi.
Serialize the story instead of making a miniseries
Kill it completely for a decade. No new films or tv. Games are ok because they’ve always been a separate thing. After those 10 years you release a new trilogy set hundreds of years apart from the other films. The only connection it should have to the originals is maybe an occasional reference to the legendary Skywalker who took down the galactic empire. That’s it. Then comes the hard part, you have to actually write a good story and create new characters.
It's too late. There's nothing you can do with it at this point except reboot it all, and with someone other than Disney who actually gave a shit about what came before helming it. Not Filoni, he loves it but he isn't good enough to turn it around.
>There's nothing you can do with it at this point except reboot it all
I've been expecting this since Ep 9 came out, remakes if the original trilogy even though the prequels need them more
Kust imagining the threafs when Han is cast as a moron
>even though the prequels need them more
The way to do it is to start with the prequels and do it in order. >when Han is cast as a moron
That's one of the biggest reasons it shouldn't be done.
They have potential, but not as George did them. Actually telling one coherent multigeneration story through 6 films could be kino as hell, if someone competent did it. No I don't know who that would be.
I thought, even at the time the prequels were released, that the story of what happened before the first movie should be left vague. It was best then.

I don't disagree, but unless you change the story of the OT up to be nearly unrecognizable, someone would eventually do the same shit, making the PT after the OT again.
Anonymous
Not really. Originally when people were writing novels, Lucas said they couldn't make novels set in the timeframe of the prequels. Before the prequels came out.
George himself originally said he'd never touch the subject of the Clone Wars, forever leaving it a vague reference. He broke that vow.

It's even easier to say that now given what we got (not to mention the SE being portentous), but I'm inclined to agree. Sometimes less is more. Having said that, if you watch the OT and try to compartmentalize it it's easy to see the potential in that backstory.
I didn't get into Star Wars until after the prequels, so I never got to experience the speculation and excitement, but I can understand why people would have wanted more.

Should’ve been 10 years old like I was at the time retard
>new story >new characters >new creative team entirely
respect the originals' internal logic and lore (to a reasonable degree, should mainly be background context anyway) and follow these three rules and yeah it could be saved for sure.
There are two clear paths. Set a new series into a further future, away from the living memory of the Skywalker and Palpatine families, or set a new series delving into the distant past, such as the Old Republic and Sith Empire eras. Disney still seems to be stuck on exploring as much as possible during what is now a rather stale era of George Lucas' galaxy.
He probably would have if he died of old age with the rights. There's a lot of bad shit you can say about him, but he was pretty good about all sorts of levels of fan shit. While you couldn't outright make Star Wars material, a lot of stuff openly used sound effects as reference.
it's never going to be what it was, Disney destroyed any good will and trust in the franchise.
can better Star Wars exist? sure but it won't be the same.
Disney didn't just destroy the franchise by making shit product, they actively insulted and attacked fans. those people aren't every coming back as long as Disney owns it.
honestly it should be sold and shelved for 10-15 years, then you reboot it, erasing everything single thing Disney has done.
absolutely nobody currently working for Lucasfilm should be apart of the reboot. You hire people who understand and will respect the IP, hire writers, directors, and so on who actually have talent and the ability to make a TV show or movie.
it's functionally dead and will take at least a generation or to possibly recover to where it used to be. Disney has run it into the ground that much.
They'll probably use the Vong at some point and make them get single-handedly bodied by Rey or whatever so even they are made inferior to the EU original like everything else Disney has brought back in their constant panic
its a children's movie franchise.
You are never going to recreate the raw excitement and immersion of watching things like star wars as an adult.
its also reddit af
>first wife does all of your editing >divorce >make the special editions with just enough changes that you can remove her name from creative rights since she had no input >refuse to allow further distribution of the old stuff to fully fuck her over
George made his bed.
Star Wars just needs good villains, that's it.
The OT works because of Vader and then the Emperor when Vader needed to start faltering.
Heir works because of Thrawn, Shadows works because of Xizor, Dark Empire works because of Palpatine, New Jedi Order doesn't work because the Vong are all over the place but at the very least it's a decent idea.
People like Maul because he looks cool. Nobody gives a shit about Dooku. Greivous is a joke.
But the Disney shit doesn't even have cool looking villains, let alone good ones. They had no idea what the First Order was or if Kylo Ren was really evil or not, or if Snoke was supposed to be anything at all. The Han Solo movie had nothing, Woody Harrelson was a better villain than what's his name but he wasn't even a real villain. Rogue One had a Tarkin knock-off who got bitched out by the real Tarkin and also Vader.
I haven't even watched the new shows past Mando season 1, where the villain was also basically just Tarkin but more action-y.
The Disney shit would've worked if Thrawn was the villain instead of a rotating cast of nobodies.
>Fire and publicly execute Kennedy and Filoni >Make Ahsoka die a horrible and humiliating death >Make endless shows and movies about Palpatine being based
>bring lucas back >after red tails >after making the clone wars >after kingdom of the crystal skull >after shitting on his own fans >after selling the company
george ran out of gas after revenge of the sith and bringing him back would only make things worse than when he started ruining it in the first place. we would just get more of pic related dogshit or more of the filoni pet characters talking about their feelings for 8 season.s
Delete the sequels
New Jedi order doesn’t get blown up by kylo and instead is the focus of a new series of films and tv shows
Basically do what the eu did but delete the shitty parts
Star Wars will never be as good as it was when it came out because the original trilogy was written like a fairy tale in space. Modern audiences are way too cynical for that stuff now (hence all the "WE'RE SELF-AWARE" Joss Whedon shit in Marvel), the only movies that can get away with that kind of emotional vulnerability now are animated films.
I'm sure there's a way. There's probably a way to save anything, but I have serious trouble seeing it when it comes to Star Wars. It'd be different and perhaps easier if it were some small niche thing like Battlestar Galactica or Expanse, or whatever, that needed a lot of repairs quality and impact-wise. Problem is, SW is too interwoven into that popular/top shelf aura of pop culture, though that's obviously bleeding out now, but it's their own fault.
If I could suggest one thing maybe...it'd be to pick a side for a good long while. Either focus fully on movies purely, or do the tv thing and just forget about the movies for minute until enough good will has been built back up etc. but obviously they can't do both, at least while it's in Disney's hands.
And then obviously scale back on all the SJW/pandering horseshit. I don't care if the casts are multicultural or spotlights female leads or whatever. I don't give a shit. It's about how you present that stuff and deliver it though...that's what they fail to grasp.
Tons of EU material does is lacking the same spirit of Star Wars that all the Yidsney shit is, but retards can't see it because of nostalgia and enjoying it when they were younger
>Vong are star trek shit
Is your problem the concept of an extragalactic threat in general or just the Vong's lame ass orc characteristics? Typically, many popular sci-fi has done this shit ranging from Borg in Star Trek to Ori in Stargate to Shadows in Babylon 5.
Some of the most popular old EU stuff is genuine trash. I have NO idea how anyone can read through all three of the original Zahn books for example and not have a laundry list of problems ready to discuss about them.
No
Lucas doesn't even give a shit anymore
Good? Lucas never did anything good with star wars.
Who is Lucas
Pic unrelated?
I loved the Vong and Junta/Emperor Pallaeon, seeing the old man of the Empire finally fight someone without plot armor was great.

I don't like thinking like this, it makes me sad. But there's something fishy going on beneath the surface of Star Wars and I'll be damned if all roads don't seem to lead back to George.
George has to be a fraud.
Low IQ moment.
The proof that George is a hack is the special editions and prequels were utter garbage, thanks to his first wife being divorced.
> the special editions
And they are le bad, because? Ugh, because RLM said so?
> and prequels were utter garbage
Filtered.
> thanks to his first wife being divorced.
Stale reddit meme that his wife actually "saved" Star Wars is so stale.
Get George's cock out of your mouth.
The best Star Wars movie, Empire Strikes Back has the least involvement of Lucas.
I'm starting to believe that everyone with George's dick that far down their throat is trolling. You can hate the Yidsney shit while acknowledging George was insanely flawed.
>Ugh, because RLM said so?
Because almost every major change is for the worse. I can't think of a single one that was an improvement; at best any given change is a wash.
>Filtered.
Happy to be.
I don't think Lucas is a hack, by the way, but the SE and prequels are shit. It's possible for someone to be responsible for both good things and bad things.
>because RLM said so?
RLM would be right. You'd think the same if you were capable of critical thinking.
No, I saw the special editions in theaters you cretin and the new changes were fucking stupid even at that moment.
This moron paid Leonard Maltin to do the queen of all ass kissing interviews, split the shit into 3 parts, and stuck one BEFORE each of the SE VHS releases. You had to fast forward through them every time to watch the movie. This is while he was planning the prequels.
Look at how far up his own ass he was.
Holy fuck I forgot about those. I learned so much about video editing trying to read ways to get rid of that portion of tape as a kid.
buddhist slop
real easy to let go of stuff when you're a billionaire and can just buy more
Considering his age and the risk and the prophecy, and the fact that the Order was sitting on centuries of wealth, the sensible thing was to ease his young retard slave conscience by shelling out to free his mother Shmi. They practically asked for it not doing so.
Lucas's sequels would have tread all over the EU just as hard as the sequels we got just like TCW did (and to some extent even the prequel trilogy). That's not the only reason they jettisoned the EU, but it's a massive part.
I think he’d prefer the boatloads of money. Any sane person would.
No
Yes, here’s how.
This but 3 decades. People really need to want it.
The best way to deal with the prequels is wipe them from existence.
The build up to episode 1 was huge. The disappointment after episode 1 was gigantic.
I never met a single person that thought episode 1 was bad until I was much older and seeing people on the internet pretending it’s the consensus.
I knew plenty of people that disliked TPM and the prequels in general when they came out, including multiple family members. Anecdotes are anecdotes. The disappointment is well-documented.
Should’ve been 10 years old like I was at the time retard
That's because you were a child when it came out.
Just stop.
>new story
>new characters
>new creative team entirely
respect the originals' internal logic and lore (to a reasonable degree, should mainly be background context anyway) and follow these three rules and yeah it could be saved for sure.
I still love Star Wars even if it doesn't make sense to me anymore.
Imagine if George made it public domain instead of selling to the rat.
He probably would have if he died of old age with the rights. There's a lot of bad shit you can say about him, but he was pretty good about all sorts of levels of fan shit. While you couldn't outright make Star Wars material, a lot of stuff openly used sound effects as reference.
But that wouldn't punish the mean people that criticized his "valid and legitimate creative vision" like selling it to Yidsney did.
No one wants to see trans male pregnant Luke tshirts on kindergarten teachers
>no one wants Bigger Luke
Its Luuke. Get it right.
>He doesn't know
About what? I know about Luuke. He's Luke's clone that was cloned from Luke's severed hand.
Bigger Luke and Luuke aren't the same
Bigger Luke is a meme that isn't actually a thing. Luuke is actually a thing.
>made up books are real
Anon take your force pills
...Yes anon, books are real. I'm holding the book in my hand right now.
Its even the pre Legends version.
>books are real
garden gnome lies
Wrong. garden gnomes only lie about things involving the number 6 million.
Certainly not by adapting Zahn's slop.
it's never going to be what it was, Disney destroyed any good will and trust in the franchise.
can better Star Wars exist? sure but it won't be the same.
You are never going to recreate the raw excitement and immersion of watching things like star wars as an adult.
its also reddit af
>first wife does all of your editing
>divorce
>make the special editions with just enough changes that you can remove her name from creative rights since she had no input
>refuse to allow further distribution of the old stuff to fully fuck her over
George made his bed.
They can't make good villains anymore
>A villain has to be able to surprise and disgust you
And disney doesn't allow that.
You're right, they've even been ruining their own classic villains for a decade already, let alone how they'll screw up Thrawn.
No, TLJ killed it unquestionably.
the fact that Lucas incorporated EU stuff into the movies puts the lie to all that
>Fire and publicly execute Kennedy and Filoni
>Make Ahsoka die a horrible and humiliating death
>Make endless shows and movies about Palpatine being based
A Star Wars Star Trek Holiday Christmas special spanning four hours with musical guests, celebrity guests and zany hijinks.
Seinfeld readaptation but Admiral Ackbar.
>bring lucas back
>after red tails
>after making the clone wars
>after kingdom of the crystal skull
>after shitting on his own fans
>after selling the company
george ran out of gas after revenge of the sith and bringing him back would only make things worse than when he started ruining it in the first place. we would just get more of pic related dogshit or more of the filoni pet characters talking about their feelings for 8 season.s
kill all the slave owners.
Delete the sequels
New Jedi order doesn’t get blown up by kylo and instead is the focus of a new series of films and tv shows
Basically do what the eu did but delete the shitty parts
No, but yidsney can definitely lose many more millions trying to make it so
>Can Star Wars be saved?
Yes.
>If so, how?
Letting the parent company finally go bankrupt & forcing the IP to get sold off and/or put out to pasture.
Publicly execute Filoni and reboot everything after episode 6.
Vong are star trek shit, always have been.
Left to Right.
Alf, Chris Pine, Red Head, Chris Pine, Brunette, Don Johnson, Leia, General Pussy Eater.
