I always wondered why they fricked up the sequel so badly

      >The director didn't care about the comics and hated shooting action scenes, which he always assigned to the second unit team, and also mistreated the cast, Jessica Alba in particular.
      >Script rewritten multiple times to fit the Galactus saga into a $130M budget and to push Johnny as the protagonist since Chris Evans was the most marketable of the cast.
      >Doctor Doom getting un-disfigured due to studio concerns that the character being masked for the entire film would alienate audiences and to cash in on the actor's lingering popularity from "Nip/Tuck".
      >Galactus turned into a cloud and relegated to the final ten minutes due to studio concerns that the comics version would be too silly for audiences.

      Take your pick.

No. The first movie had two good castings/costumes and three awful ones.

I enjoyed them both. It's a shame that they crammed in so much for silver surfer. Act 1 and 2 should have been an underground adventure to pay for the building. 3 should have been Surfer and the Watcher showing up after little space tidbits here and there in act 1 and 2, like planets getting eaten. Next movie should have been preparing for Galactus. Earth arming itself while Johnny and maybe the Thing go to the Negative Zone. Doom comes back and tries to get the nullifier to be the hero, wrestles with Mr Fantastic who makes him stand down by revealing the cost of using it. World knows FF are heroes ready to put it all on the line. Doom gets Latveria sucking his dick and that's about it.

Oh yeah, the first one from 1994 was awesome for what it was. But why did you post a picture of the second movie which was absolute dog shit?

I watched it for the first time a few days ago. True low-budget/campy kino. Roger Corman did it again.

I just watched both movies for the first time like a month ago. I really liked both of them. I don't get why people hate them.

For the time they were made, when Superhero movies weren't taken as a granted, they were solid enough. I would certainly take their style of camp over the last wave of marvel MCU flicks any day.
