>hmm we need a younger Luke Skywalker. >What should we do? Should we try deepfaking him again? Or should we cast Sebastian Stan or a literal-who that looks like a young Mark Hamil and then get Hamil to dub the voice over the top? >OR, and hear me out, should we try a new method of deepfaking that somehow looks even more robotic than the first attempt and pair it with an ai generated voice that literally sounds like metal being grated? >I vote we do the latter
I'm honestly all for pushing these technologies forward. The sooner actor becomes a dead profession the better. Stuff just needs to get a little bit better before I would accept it being the norm. You'll have a period where recreations of classic actors will be popular, and then quickly studios will move on to using fully artificial digital actors which helps remove some of the uncanny effect for free.

I agree and disagree at the same time.
I like advancements in cgi when they're well utilised. And ironically that's one of the reasons Star Wars was always so relevant and avant-garde under Lucas.
But when he introduced new tech, he basically set the bar in how well it was done.
These Luke deepfakes and a lot of anti-ageing tech in general is just shit and underwhelming - especially when compared to the genuinely impressive examples that have come before.
A lot of people somehow forget that BR2049 literally fully cgi'd an actress with photo-realism. That was 5 years ago now. It still hasn't been beat. Open ai experiments are unironically leagues more impressive than the shit your average $200m blockbuster is doing

Full CGI people are one thing, but the deep fake approach for pasting someone over an on set stand in or stunt actor has the better long term potential in my opinion. The issue would be that studios can't just use the open AI options available for legal reasons, for both commercial use and ownership of the end result dilemmas. So they've got to develop their own solutions in house, meaning they are 5+ years behind.

Just hire new people and allow the audience to accept that people aren't eternal.

The dream would be studios just get rid of big name actors entirely had instead maintain a stockpile of fake AI appearances and voices that can be deepfaked over physical stand ins.

It shouldn't be too much of a hassle actually. Open AI itself is comprised of two companies. A billion-dollar studio could easily work with them.
I would go so far to say that a lot of the impressive things that open ai is doing would be worth a lot more than a billion dollars in terms of time saved in post-production across multiple projects. And that's without even getting into superior quality.
So a studio like disney should be able to pay a license of like $100m/month in exchange for supervised access to their programs. It would help fund open ai with even more money and disney would stop having such cringey vfx in everything.
Alternatively, disney could be investing in better solutions. They essentially scrapped their old tech for de-ageing because some youtuber absolutely destroyed them by using deepfake technology.
Since then, deepfakes have come so far it's unreal. Disney should be hiring CS majors out of college to work on similar tech.
But that doesn't mean there will be a ton of flashbacks with him. Hayden was signed on for Kenobi too and he got about as much screentime as Tem's veteran clone cameo. It's another bait.
Hayden will probably get the same treatment as he did in "Obi-Wan Kenobi".... Obligatory Darth Vader appearance. Obligatory young Anakin appearance in a flashback.
Not everyone bothered watching Clone Wars or Rebels to fully understand who Ashoka was when her live action counter-part debuted in the Mandalorian.
Makes sense this is how it's going to play out now that Hayden signed on.
>Obligatory young Anakin appearance in a flashback.
I can't wait for Rosario to play a teenager while Hayden pretends to be a 20-something yo again.

I honestly don't know how they are gonna do a flashback with young Ahsoka. Rosario sounds too old and we all know how teenage Ahsoka sounded. I'd rather they do something with Ashley at this point.
Again, Hayden was barely used. He was promoted alongside Ewan and got less screentime than Leia, Reva, and Tala. It was a giant frick-up. They will use him to promote Ahsoka too and then he will have one scene as a Force Ghost. Just watch.
Star Wars is dead. Accept it.
Don't lament for things that could still theoretically happen because nothing kino will ever come from the star wars name ever again. Move on. We all have.
Star Wars is dead. Long live DUNC
BDH says Clone Wars fans will be happy with Ahsoka but what she meant by that I have no idea. There will probably be old clones in it, I doubt we will get actual Clone Wars flashbacks - that's too expensive and Disney is very cheap rn.
how will flashback ahsoka dress? lol will they get a kid to dress like she does in the cartoon? rofl they'll have to right? i hope they dont use rosario that would be very jarring. they should give viewers a lore accurate portrayal.
Mandalorian, book of Boba shitt, and orange buttcheeks show
Nothing is ever too late for DarkSydeFiloni
Filoni looks VERY ~~*Italian*~~
I wish he wasn't such a moronic homosexual irl because Ewan is hot
Actors are prostitutes, you can enjoy his hotness without focusing on his moronation
>Can we still get live action Clone Wars or is it too late?
The Ashoka show is going to have a lot of flashback scene with Anakin. Closest you'll get to live-action Clone Wars content.
What Kenobi should have been, though I guess this is for the best. Cut Ewan out of the picture.
Wait a second is Rosario going to pay 14 year old Ashoka too?
>Wait a second is Rosario going to pay 14 year old Ashoka too?
or they just get a 14 year old....
Modern studios seem have have an aversion to recasting to the point where they will go for CGI and AI deepfaking over just getting a younger actor.

How the frick do you know this, there is zero info about this show
Hayden signed on

Hayden was in the vader costume. Except for lightsaber fights and stunts.

Hollywood Reporter and Variety literally reported it.
They are the big Hollywood trades, anything they report is basically official.
No.
Hayden is 41
Ewan is 51
Tem is 61
Natalie is 41
Samuel L Jackson is 73
Rosario is 43
It had it's run. They can do a few flashbacks though in Ahsoka or future Kenobi though.
>Rosario is older than Hayden
Uhh Snips and Skyguy bros???
>Rosario is only 43
holy WALL'd
By the end of the decade we will have photo realistic CGI and there won't be any difference anymore
Star Wars is dead. Accept it.

the acrobatic budget alone would bankrupt disney.
