Did you like it? I liked the visuals but I didn't find the movie very compelling. I wonder if Daft Punk really had the cameo or if it was just 2 people in replica helmets.
I'll admit that it wasn't the greatest, especially the final act after end of line, but the visuals of the grid paired with the soundtrack will ensure that this movie will live rent free in my head until the day I die.
I don't know why Legacy got so much hate. People act like it was a Netflix sequel to Citizen Kane, but the original was a gimmicky B-movie and Legacy wasn't any dumber. They're both good for what they are. I wish Jeff Bridges wasn't channeling The Dude all movie but whatever. Plus my first girlfriend took me to see this so I'll always have soft spot for it.
If you haven't already, download the entire soundtrack too. It's amazing.
The only problem I had with it was how everything in the computer world now looked "real." Like, the vehicles and stuff had complex mechanical parts, there's fog and dirt, glass and metal break and scratch, etc. Part of the wonder of the original Tron was how the computer stuff clearly was all digital because it didn't need to actually exist. A tank made out of glowing boxes of light, for instance. I wish the new one has tried to be more fantastic instead of realistic.
>dirt
In my head dirt (like rocks and rough terrain) represented unused memory. But thinking about it that doesn't even make sense, since during the flashback we see the grid as empty and pristine.
Anyway yeah, I'm with you. Fog, scratches and dents don't make any sense. I could make the case for vehicles having complex parts (I'd consider them like subroutines and methods in a program) but even then those parts shouldn't look like a real life combustion engine.
Walking would. "Walkable Cities" would not. They would lead to the development of an even more complete delivery/courier economy. So the fats would actually have to walk less. Living space would be highly reduced, so even less walking.
I enjoyed it. I was legitimately surprised it got made, the first one wasn't exactly a run away hit with people screaming for a sequel.
Biggest complaint I heard was just how Tron himself was basically a cameo and how he was treated.
The old arcade game was kick-ass. Went into the arcade early one morning after everything powered up and the bank of 3 each had like 75+ credits. Played the fuck out of them for a couple hours straight.
I liked it a lot, and have high hopes for the next one while hoping and praying Disney doesn't fuck it up with "DEI over quality story-telling" while hoping Jared Leto delivers a rare solid performance.

When I was a younger man I had a friend who went to film school and told everyone he was a film maker and was utterly convinced he would be a big time director one day
To this day, he has never made a single piece of cinema and still lives with his mother at 36 years old working as a delivery driver
You don't know what overproduction means and I want you to respond to me and tell me what you think it means before I embarrass you. I'll have this thread open for the next 30 minutes.
I think it suffered from the first one getting kind of nostalgia goggles cult status nothing in real life could live up to. Like if they made a sequel to The Last Starfighter everyone would be bitching about how bad the new movie is, even though I think the original is complete garbage.

can we talk about how americans are so fat they need test seats to make sure they can fit in a roller coaster
And "Walkable Cities" are only going to make it worse.

yeah... just think of it more like a really long music video
I liked it. It was entertaining, which is what movies are for
I hate this scene, it makes me seethe how much I'm missing out on life.
i dream of this everyday...
what is riding a motocyle like bros?
It's pretty relaxing going on long distance rides, also you could smile and wink at a lot of chicks with shitty driving skills.
salty coins
baggy coins
five seconds later a bee flies in his eye and they crash and are horribly mangled to death
He downloaded a waifu
kek

tron legacy is the reason why I want to learn to drive buy motorcycle
REAL HUMAN BEING
AND A REAL HERO
REAL HUMAN BEING
I loved Tron Legacy but it's pretty much the same plot of the old Super Mario Brothers movie.
anyone that plays EVE Online would confuse this scene with a player in a Triglavian suit and a Big player station in the back.
FUCK EVE

only good thing that came out of this movie:
it's sad that we didn't hear daft punk in soundtrack mode moar tbh
Disney kinda screwed with them so they refused to do any more movie work.
what other disney film would even work with their theme?
Uprising was the only good new Tron. The reboot was cringe garbage and the Daft Cunt soundtrack sucked ass.
I've got news for you, homosexual. The original was cringe garbage too. But it developed a devoted following. This one actually made money.
Walking instead of driving would lead to greater caloric expidenture though not less

I associate this film with these particular chips and plain white bread. I discovered this combo on my own and it was really tasty.
>tfw these chips don't exist in US
fuck this country seriously
oh come on it's not that bad
there are also no bacon lays, no onion lays, no paprika lays
you know the one flavor they got? Vinegar.
>chips and plain white bread
What

It's mindblowing that as recently as 2010 you could have a Disney movie with a cast this white
kek
And with that I fucking give up.
Before Twitter popularity
>DEI
lol remember when they called it DIE
I guess it was a little obvious with the white genocide coding
>YEA

His favorite movie of all time is Tron Legacy
I forgot about the new Tron movie. I'm gonna have to check it out.
holy shit this quality
what is this from? 200gb Bray rip?
>actually somewhat attractive woman in a western production
>she's CGI
It's a good example of something being "overproduced".
They could and should have squeezed five good films out of the concept on the one budget.
You don't know what overproduction means and I want you to respond to me and tell me what you think it means before I embarrass you. I'll have this thread open for the next 30 minutes.
Overproduced. Too refined, distilling all the organic qualities out of it until it's just a generic forgettable piece of shit. Like Tron Legacy.
Eat shit. It was good.
I think it suffered from the first one getting kind of nostalgia goggles cult status nothing in real life could live up to. Like if they made a sequel to The Last Starfighter everyone would be bitching about how bad the new movie is, even though I think the original is complete garbage.
visuals and music and Olivia Wilde are patrician tier, story is meh tier. overall 6.5/10
It's just a music and visuals demo but it mogs most films, which is kinda sad.
