SOMEWHERE OVER THE HORIZON
>.....
this actor alone saved the whole movie from being absolute dogshit.
You've got to be fricking kidding me. I'm so sick of these shitty contrarian posts. I'll fricking rip your guts out of your smooth white tummy and shove them down your throat.
this shit is so cringy, i hope you homosexuals realize how gay this looks
OH N-
Why’d he do it bros
Because he could, he's chaotic evil
He just liked doing things like that
Imagine not rolling dubs
theatrical bluray comes out in a couple weeks
Link? I don’t see anything for a US release.
Its through an Australian company but I just bought something from them and it plays fine. And I just bought it normally through an American distributor.

Disc Two: Original Theatrical Cut
1080p high-definition presentation on Blu-ray by Paramount Pictures
I watched this movie one time and afterwards I said to myself "Well, that's the last time I'll ever watch that movie." Then I jerk offd and went to sleep.
I watched this movie every night for a week when I had a chronic flu.
I kinda thought that the first time. Wasn't very impressed. Then a long while later I was scrolling through Netflix, not being able to pick, and The Warriors just felt like an easy choice. And I've watched it a few times after that.
It's kinda not great, but it's also good enough to win you over. It can become your "...I'll just start this playing" movie.
for me, it's the Electric Eliminators
For me? It's the Hi Hats
>for me is the Gas Chamberists
I have one of these jackets
how much did it cost you? they're my favorite gang in the movie.
I re-watched this film recently. Still enjoyed it, though some of the action scenes feel kind of meh? Those dudes with baseball bat in particular. I think this could work as a miniseries to expand upon the various gangsters with their unique gimmicks. Also, anyone played the game version of this?
>Those dudes with baseball bat in particular.
They terrified me as a kid
> Also, anyone played the game version of this?
Yes
Looking back it is an extremely camp film, its one song and dance routine away from being West Side Story
The game is fricking amazing. I can't remember any video game adaption that was not only good, but expanded the world and story both before and after the events of the movie its based on
the game is great but it ramps up in difficulty and it fricking sucks
>though some of the action scenes feel kind of meh
I agree. I was really excited to watch it when I heard it was a big inspiration for Rockstar's Manhunt, but the violence is very much goofy 70s slapfights instead of the intense brutality I was expecting.
>be such an insufferable c**t on set that instead of being the lead character you get demoted to a supporting role and they kill your character off early in the film
the dumbass doesn't even get a credit because while arguing with the director or some shit he said he didn't want one.
I thought he is going to be important with him being one of the few actual witness to the shooting.
He was the original lead character, but he had zero chemistry with the female love interest, and was a total butthole on the set, so the director made Swan the leader character instead.
After The Warriors he actually got cast to play a character in Carpenter's The Thing, and he acted like an idiot on THAT set too lol! He played a character called "Windows", but the character wasn't originally written as "Windows", the dude came up with it and told Carpenter about the name, and Carpenter just went with it because he didn't really care.
Oh shit. I didn't even realise it was the same guy but thought he looked familiar. Ha! What a twat!
>played a character called "Windows"
I remember. He is the radio guy that tries to grab a gun about halfway through. Didn't know the actor himself come up with that name.
He was on a panel with some of the actors from The Thing where he talked about how much of a dumbass he was at the time, and talked about coming up with the name "Windows" because the character would wear sunglasses as a "window" to his soul or some shit...said he basically had his head up his own ass.
why did Windows do it bros?
Is that Windows?
Fricked up so bad he was sent to Antarctica
>CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNN YOOOOOUU DIIIIIIIIIIIG IIIIITT!!!!
Has anyone else ever watched this? It's like the WOP version of the Warriors. Kino soundtrack too
Never seen it but it's always a somewhat popular cult title amongst VHS collectors for some reason.
It's absolutely NOTHING like the Warriors, it's a coming of age film set in Brooklyn in the 60s. Yeah it has gangs but it's not really a gang film.
This movie’s the shit. If nothing else, watch it for the rumble during the football game.
>We've got the chuds right by the trannies. Nobody is wasting nobody. CAN YOU DIG IT?
>the Frogposting Furies
>the Bane Boys
>the Friends in Sneed
Raise a glass for the ones we've lost among the way:
>the Bat Credit Cardsharks
>the Sons of Mask
FOR WHAT!
I remember the crazy lesbian(?) gang in this movie. It kinda reminds me to the castle Anthrax scene from Monty Python of all things.
>NOOOOO!
>IT WASN'T UUUUSSS!
>IT WAS THEEEEMMMM!
IT WAS THE WARRIORS I'M GOING INSANE AAAAAA
>WARRIORRRRRS! COME OUT AND PLAAAAYYYY!
this movie was fake and gay af. why is it considered a classic? it literally looked like a bunch of broadway actors from jesus christ superstar getting together trying to figure out how to make a badass gang movie
Were you born after 1995 per chance?
It pretty accurately shows how fricked up NYC was at that time.
>Jesus Christ Superstar
Was another kino movie too
People always act a little odd in old movies. The way they speak is funny, they make irrational decisions, they're overall cringe. I chalk it up to the lead poisoning and asbestos.
That's part of the charm, I think
Stuff like seeing a 30 year old pretend to be a 16 year old gang member who for some reason attempts to rape a woman in public on a park bench is what makes the movie memorable, despite being comical in a lot of aspects it somehow manages to ooze atmosphere and the characters feel consistent with the world
For me, its Antichrist Superstar
That was how it was back then, maybe not as gimmicky but lot of little gangs everywhere with their own little shtick. Ask any boomer who lived in NYC back then they'll tell you endless stories about it.
I really don't get the hype this movie gets. Like the main conflict could have been resolved if they just removed their jacket.
Take off jacket = live
Wear your jacket = die
simple as
They would have lived, but The Warriors would have died.
Sounds like you’re going homosexual
Not resolved. Avoided. Like cowards. They'd never be able to defend their turf after.
you must be a woman
Great cinematography. Great soundtrack.
when i first watched the film i expected the ragetard to be more important to the plot, like he would question Swan's leadership, fight/ bertray him etc.
So he was the ''girl'' of the gang right?
He cyoot.
>literal homosexual that died of AIDS
Why is there so much fricking rape in 70's movies.
There was a lot of rape in the 70s in general.
What, are you going homosexual?
Ajax is literally me
Write what you know.
It's just 70's New York
The lizzie in the middle used to drive me wild with those crazy b***h eyes. She still does actually
miring jaw on the left
The actress is Kate Klugman. Sadly it doesn't seem like she did anything else besides a walk-on role in a tv show.
SUCKA
>Now there can't be more than 100 jannies on the whole damn site.
CAAANNNN YOOUUUU DDIIGGG IIITTT!
Thanks Rockstar
The girl on the cover looks nothing like the girl in the film
Neither do the Warriors. Cleon looks like he's from a different gang that all wear dishcloths on their head like he does.
This film walked so that the Escape movies could run
Pay your respects
I watched escape from ny and i didn't even realize until the end of the movie
>snake takes THE STAIRS the entire way to the top of the WTC
>with a bum leg
>for no reason and immediately turns around and goes back down
The Warriors is a far superior and a far superior depiction of a run-down gangland New York.
Wrong.
I really hated the romance plot.
The movie is dog shit.
The game elevated the movie to cult status. Nobody knew about the movie before the game came out.
Fricking moron
imagine living in 1970's NYC and getting robbed by one of these bozos
>The Diaperchus
The 70s were full of multiracial gangs huh?
I wish urban gangs irl were what 80s/early90s movies always depicted them as: multiracial, at least one girl, wearing random shit that's mostly leather and spikes, Skate or Die hairstyles, listening to rock n roll on a boombox, just drinking and hollering in dark slimy alleyways
Ajax was handsome as frick
>In Uber
>Talking to driver
>He brings up this movie, we talk about how much we liked it
>I say I'm surprised they haven't remade it yet like they do with every other property
>He says I have him an idea, getting out mentioned he knows someone in the industry
D-do I get a producer credit or something?
