Captain America: Brave New World

Lots of conflicting information around, so here's a recap of the reliable plot leaks about the movie.

Pre-reshoots

>Sam Wilson and his team (Joaquin Torres, Leila Taylor and Isaiah Bradley) retrieve Adamantium extracted from the dead celestial in the Indian Ocean stolen by the Serpent Society, a group of cyborg mercenaries.
>President Thaddeus Ross asks Wilson to reassemble the Avengers under government control, but he is reluctant, causing tension with Ross.
>During a ceremony at the White House, Bradley is brainwashed into stealing the Adamantium. Wilson wants to pursue him, but Ross forbids him.
>Wilson and Torres investigate anyway and meet Ruth Bat-Seraph, an Israeli mutant CIA operative assigned to the case.
>They find out the mastermind behind the conspiracy is gamma-enhanced mad scientist Samuel Sterns.
>Ross tortured Sterns into working for the U.S. government for years. Now Sterns has escaped and is building a weapon, which requires Adamantium, to get revenge.
>Wilson ultimately confronts Ross about his crimes, and finds out Ross has been using gamma radiation to treat his heart condition, which transforms him into Red Hulk.
>Wilson and Ruth fight Red Hulk in the White House, Wilson manages to defeat him by siphoning the radiation off his body, but Ross apparently dies in the process.
>Wilson decides to reassemble the Avengers as an independent organization, while Ross turns out to be secretly alive and under government custody.

Post-reshoots

>Giancarlo Esposito has been added as an “antagonistic agent of chaos” working for Sterns who fights Wilson throughout the movie. He is now the one who steals the Adamantium.
>The Serpent Society has been cut and replaced with the Sons of the Serpent, a paramilitary group which helps Esposito’s character steal the Adamantium.
>An action scene has been added where the police chase Wilson after Ross orders his arrest.

Cinemaphile won't accept this movie isn't about Trump and January 6th until it comes out.

Neither will I. Captain America isn't allowed to be about cool Americans fighting bad guys anymore; that's fascist stuff. Instead it has to be stupid, and poorly written moments like the "you have to stop calling them terrorists; I will not provide any solutions to this problem" scene.

        >"you have to stop calling them terrorists; I will not provide any solutions to this problem" scene.

This was 100% a reaction to BLM and the 2020 riots and it's aged like fricking milk. Literally everybody hates those guys now.

These movies are made ahead of time, though. Its possible that we'll still get pro BLM talking point in media for the next few years. That is unless the rewrites fixes things, but the people writing these things are strange ideologues; they might still see far left shit in it and go "seems good to me!".

I feel like they should have written the opening scene with Steve Roger's funeral.

I would have wrote it that way and amongst the guests paying their respects there is a disguised, elderly and given-up-on-his-ideals Red Skull (we don't learn that until later) that becomes a pawn of the Leader. Skull gets his super soldier serum blood extracted until he's bone-dry and dead, and that's used to 'cure' Ross. Also to explain why he's RED Hulk.

Someone still thinks Eternals is a thing to push over there..

sounds like a solid WS style Cap plot. I'm not entirely sold on how they defeat Rulk. they should do that shit in Ultimates where Jan zaps Banner's brain but with Cassie or hell, maybe Eric o' Grady

Wait why is Ross involved and what did Sterns do for the government. You gotta retcon in some explanations. It's not hard but seems overly complicated
