No one should. It's a "true" unscripted story show.

    >I just finished directing, remotely, a TV series called 'Suburban Screams' – 'John Carpenter's Suburban Screams.' It was filmed in Prague, and I sat on my couch and directed it. It was awesome

Man I want to give this a chance but I'm not sure how I feel about him directing it remotely.

Based Carpenter "directing" from his cellphone while he plays his Xbox.

    >The six-episode unscripted horror anthology series, which premieres Friday, October 13, on Peacock, is an exploration of true tales of terror that took place in seemingly perfect American hometowns
Sounds like true crime garbage. I don't hate that stuff but it all blends together after awhile.

In the Mouth of Madness had a dogshit script but some decent practical effects, overall it's very average.

I went to an early screening of this and one of the stories is about a fat amerimutt whose car broke down and so he had to walk to the shops but because American suburbia is not walkable he dieded.

This surprises you? Almost everything he's ever made was basically ignored on release and took years to actually find a fan base.

      I love that show
      >it's a property line dispute episode
      >it's a dog biting a kid episode
      >it's a cranky old boomer too eager to use his gun for "self defense" episode
      >it's a block party/barbecue gone wrong episode
      >it's a schizo neighbor goes postal episode

I absolutely respect him for not giving a fuck about movies anymore and just playing vidya and making music, he deserves it but I really wish he got the urge to make one more great film. Do a Dead Space adaptation John pls.

    >ut the filmmaker essentially retired after 2010's poorly received The Ward, and, aside from a clutch of music videos featuring himself and his band, Carpenter has not returned to the director's chair since then. Until now.
Ah, jeez... What happened with this "Ward" movie? Sounds like someone really shit the bed with that one.
