No, it's so your lazy ass doesn't have to hire an art department and you don't have to commit to an aesthetic style until post production. This type of fantasy gun wouldn't require an armorer since it would be a custom non-functioning prop.
To make a shit ton of variations of the same scene with different background, objects, design. Then they show them to focus groups to see what things they like more. All this so you, the consumer, can get the blandest, safest, least offensive combination in theaters.
What I don't understand is why the green screen itself has a corner in the exact same place as the corner in the final shot, shouldn't it just be a flat screen?
so they can put any pistol sized gun they want in his hand later
No most likely it's just easier to match the lighting on a CGI gun or it's a reshoot and they lost the prop from months ago. I heard someone saw it was a pain in the ass taking the gun prop to different countries in Europe but it sounds made up. Anyway it's not like they are going to build all these complex sets and costumes and then spend time and money focus testing and CGIng a prop gun, stop being moronic. It's probably the same room they shot the fricking scene in and he is just pasted into it why would they change the gun but be 100% sure they aren't going to want to change locations?
>have to get a realistic gun prop designed and made, all on union pay >have to get extra forms and paperwork to transport, have it on set etc. >have to store or destroy the prop afterwards >if you want to change the design later on, you can't.
it's easier and cheaper to get some non-union monkey to put in a CGI one. and you wouldn't have even known if they never released the before picture
Iirc armoruers cost a shit ton of money and if you're shooting overseas then there's a mountain of paperwork since no country has gun laws as lax as the US unless you live in New York or California
so they can put any pistol sized gun they want in his hand later
consider the background as well. they've completely replaced that since the actor was in a different country and couldn't be on set. it would be very difficult to try and replicate the lighting of the rest of the scene, it may have not even been filmed yet.
for what purpose???
So you don't pull an Alec Baldwin
i watched the assassination of jesse james the other night and was nervous af at all the gun waving and pointing in such close proximity

Would you give a black man a gun?
The molds for the toy were still in testing
Trouble bringing it around Europe
It’s better than people getting shot
so they dont make white guys insecure
What black man your mom fricked raped you as a kid, anon?
>What black man your mom fricked raped you as a kid, anon?
he told me he loved me, so it was fine
easier to get a chink to render than pay an armorer

it's UK compliant
how many bootleg cgi guns did they have in mind?
>WhY IsNT ThErE A lEAtHAl WeAPoN On SeT?!? REEEEEEEEEEEE
So Alec Baldwin doesnt shoot another motherfricker, idiot.
How about a toy version? Or no trigger or no bullets.
You need a loicence of those outside of America
so they can put any pistol sized gun they want in his hand later

It's actually because Hollywood realizes in the future guns might be banned so they can easily cg it with something else.
dudes gottem soft
Rather a cgi gun than clearly fake prop guns like in THe Sopranos. Don't @ me
>CGI movies are not a money launder scheme, it's definitely cheaper to CGI a gun instead of buying an airsoft replica!
nobody has said that schizo, obviously it's more expensive to CGI
>nobody has said that schizo
except lots of people in literally every capeshit thread
WHY IN THE FRICK DID THEY CGI A WALL! Just film in a room!
The room is real, he is just comped into it. Have you never seen a movie before? Comping is a common technique
