>Both of them are best friends
>Neither of them is ever implied to have even so much as a crush on the other

>Still best friends by the end of the series, never drifted apart and never fell into any form of romance drama or even teasing
Does literally ANY other Cinemaphile property do this? It's fricking based and I can't recall a single other series that didn't at least go through a brief period of the two characters having a thing for each other.

    Well...

I agree with you, the other stuff about them being platonic friends is true, but I dunno why OP said that specifically.
It's kinda an example of them drifting apart. Though not its not because they were no longer friends, but rather because pasquallo had stuff he needed to do. It's just one of the many things that makes the end of it hurts so existentially depressing.

I said that because of spoiler reasons.

I never played tittyworld is that game canon to it hurts or PFM, and is that the allison from please forgive me or it hurts?

well aside from that Actually they do also meet each other in some bonus comic that is related to the end of its hurts. It was like he sent his spirit to meet her one last time after the universe ended or something, i dont remember exactly. , but I cant remember if thats still on the site or where the link is (or if it was fully canon).

          Anonymous

OP again, the bonus comic is exactly what I was referring to as "spoiler reasons". Allison losing her memories of Tubsy clearly caused a rift between them but it wasn't a result of some kind of interpersonal drama, it was completely beyond the control of either of them and it's shown that they're still fundamentally friends via that bonus comic.

Yeah it took me a minute but i also realized that and said likewise over here.

I guess its not drifting apart so much as being separated because of "the call of duty" or something like that.

It's not interpersonal drama that separated allison and pasquallo so much as cosmic tragedy.

I'd say more that gob and josef matured and thats how it's always been if you read through GD!, IH!! all the way to current PFM!!!, did we all forget he wrote an in universe panel about how they aren't using slurs anymore. Dude has a kid on the way so I get how he can lose the edge a bit. Either way I enjoy PFM!!! as a different thing I just enjoy Gobs stuff.

I started to like PFM more the more I stopped comparing it to or expecting it to be It Hurts! It's like apples and oranges. I prefer apples but if I bit into an orange expecting it to taste like an apple I would find it extra dissatisfying.

Yeah as it was first launching straight through pg. 100 I was expecting It Hurts!! 2 and dropped it from disappointment but after a couple months I went back in enjoyed it a lot more.

I thought part of it hurts was pasquallo having to mature as a person and cope with the situation he lived in. It felt like a coming of age in some sense, but i could be remembering wrong.

the whole post apocalyptic setting that most of It hurts took place in, was pretty different from PFM.

well yeah, it was outright stated to pasqualo that aurora's sole reason to live was him. An aurora without a pasqualo is inherently, fundamentally unhappy because she literally doesn't have her reason to live.

But that's why Pasq made her become him.

To the extent of his enduring unfathomable pain to the ends of the universe and writing himself out of reality for her to exist? Nah, but she knew by the time of her death that Pasq would sacrifice for her but she was created to make Pasq happy. Unhappy Pasq makes Aurora unhappy, and Pasq wanted to make her happy. This is why PFM! is an extra kick in the teeth sometimes.

The setting is less interesting. Not that a world with monsters isn't neat but IH got really good when it became about a post apocalyptic world because you simply didn't knew what was coming next. It was also interesting to see all the characters from the previous strips, how they ended up and if they would be used again. PFM feels like it's building up to something gigantic but the constant waiting gets really, really boring.

            Anonymous

Well as opposed to what? Two main characters are often made to be around eachother a lot so if a guy and girl did that and liked eachother and had a lot of experiences together it's not like it doesn't make any sense. I don't see what the problem is other than wanting it to be different for being different's sake.

As opposed to the main male character and main female character finding other romantic interests and still supporting each other without any kind of hackneyed drama, which is what OP is specifically talking about. It's not that it doesn't make sense, obviously it does, but it's also just a very boring and safe option.

                Anonymous

I disagree, I don't care about throwaway love interests at all. The only purpose it serves is if you feel strongly attached to said side character in some way, shipgays are the main real opposition to this concept as far as I've seen. I agree making it dramatic and having it draw away from the more interesting parts of a story sucks, but I don't think that's tied in any way to the main characters engaging with eachother romantically, more just bad writing.

                Anonymous

I'm not a shipgay and I think shippers are mentally ill to be completely honest with you, in fact my main complaint is that it often introduces lame relationship drama where it doesn't belong and harms the dynamic between these two characters that up until that point constantly had each other's backs.

                Anonymous

Okay, I can see that. I don't like when the characters are forced to fight and argue with one another whereas they were fine before either. So I think the real issue here is the execution, not the concept. We actually seem to hate the same thing. It doesn't have to be done like that.

                Anonymous

Yeah true, it feels like writers just naturally go with "they're together, so let's use that as an excuse for drama" though sadly. Honestly it's kind of become a knee-jerk reaction for me at this point because it's so common to see that turn into a point of contention between two characters that have often known each other for years and gotten along perfectly fine until they're in a relationship.

It's a shame that it takes so long for It Hurts to get good. It makes it harder to recommend it to people.

eh most of the strips up to 100 are short so it doesn't take too long

It's kind of funny because it sounds like the definition of "Dude trust me 20 episodes in it gets good" but when you actually read it the first 99 pages are really short and often funny enough in their own right.

It's because she's a little ugly Hispanic that looks like a boy.
If she didn't have that pink bow you wouldn't even recognize it as a het.

God fricking damn, me being a fat frick makes me think I'd have a chance with Ally but Tubsy is 5000000% man, and I doubt any mortal man could even compete.
However in a world where he doesn't exist...

I find it funny pretty funny that terry gross slept with jenny penguin in this episode: https://gobolatula.com/pfm/comic/457-it-doesnt-look-like-much/

Ya know because There's implicatioons that terry might be the ithurts!pasquallo. And jenny penguin was his mom in the original verse.
Though there were jokes about in ithurts when pasquallo first meets his mom in that comic .

Pasq is 100% confirmed Gob and Gross is just based on similar traits confirmed by Gob via his Twitter not long ago

Did Gob ever address if Allison was Beta Israel or not? Because it would make sense but at the same time the idea of her just inexplicably being a black israelite seems pretty likely.

    >two characters are in love
    >they occasionally argue but it's brief and made clear they love each other
    >shippers decide they're bad for each other and toxic because lovers should never fight

    >proceed to insist they should hook up with their worst enemy who has done horrible things to them but it's just chemistry and sexual frustration according to shippers.
