what annoys me is the slight design inconsistencies, the plushie, and some promo material show her tail to be the same colour as her fur, but episodes show her to have the darker shade similar to her ear highlights. it's not a big deal to most, but it's annoying for artists that want to draw show accurate por- err, fanart.

I hate how small and pointed their snouts are compared to their face. It's awkward, the underlying skull would be incredibly bizarre. I don't even want to draw this show because of it.

A modern adaptation of Robin Hood has potential, but they just wanted the name to put on their girlboss frick whitey heist movie.

It would have been more accurate if she was an executive at the evil company, which only recently became evil because the temporary CEO is making powermoves by trying to price out the poor tenants, and was secretly stealing from the company and giving the money to the tenants so they can keep up with the rising rents.

I think the most telling part about this is that the director didn't want to use his real name.

This is at least aimed at adults, it's just written by people as smart as kids. I'm personally a big fan of the characters being portrayed as poor, while the lead lives in a spacious and well furnished 3-bedroom condo. That's definitely how the impoverished live in a big city.

The seething over this toddler cartoon seems to mainly stem from who made it, not anything in it. The cartoon reviewers have no business malding over it looking like Bluey when there are tonnes of knockoff shows in the industry. The Spider-Man and Batman toddler shows only exist because of PJ Masks and Paw Patrol, for example. How many of Bento Box's shows feature an identical visual style to Bob's Burgers despite not being spinoffs?

the funny part is that they legitimately do not understand
They're part of the aristocratic caste, and always have been
they are totally incapable of comprehending what those of a lower caste have to endure
they fully believe their silver spoon, avocado toast lifestyles are the baseline

It's an explicitly pro-America cartoon made by an openly right-wing company for the purpose of having "American Bluey".
Since it's an overtly right-wing cartoon that contains no "woke" points in it to even remotely save it from getting grilled, people are going to dump on it.
Could be the most average cartoon in existence, it's going to get reviewbombed just for being what it is and made by who made it.

Taking out the /misc/ points, it's also getting compared directly against Bluey, which is a hopeless endeavor considering how high-tier Bluey is and how many people consider it one of the best kid/toddler cartoons ever made.
It unironically has the same issue as back when MLP was huge and Hasbro did all their other IPs to try to ride the wave, and all they managed to do was get their shows compared directly to the juggernaut that is pony.
      >huhhuhuh let's make "belly bros" a thing, huhuhuh *snorts coke* lolololol
Littlest Pet Shop was the closest thing to a success out of Hasbro's (and other companies') attempts on chasing the cash, and even that was still a mess that didn't really work out that well.

Bluey has a handful of 10/10 episodes but a lot of dumb or dubious ones too. Overall around a 7/10
Chip Chilla just doesn't have good dialog and is dull start to finish. Nothing cheeky or silly ever happens. 4/10
Hilda and the Lion Guard are better than either for tots

Hilda isn't a show for little kids. At one point she fricking dies and gets replaced by an alternate timeline version of herself. It's hardcore!

              By which I mean, TV-7.

Due to babysitting my nieces, I'm familiar with Lion Guard. The animation quality is frustrating in how good it is when it's wasted on a show that's made for kids. It's a show designed for little kids to watch, not for parents to watch with their kids.

Bluey though. All ages and the storylines are more aimed at parents than the kids.

It's made by that dumb b***h Shapiro, and it's also transparently a Bluey ripoff without any of the actual soul or goodness.

      Anonymous

I’m not sure about seething but it’s legitimately shit, the voice acting sucks, the animation is stiff, the score is non existent, and the “lessons” the kids learn are just poorly thought out or executed

        Anonymous

Yeah, I watched some bluey and some of this back to back and even though I don't like bluey very much, the difference in quality is stark. Bluey manages to write the kids as kids, including being random and annoying and selfish, and the adults as pretty normal people. They usually have some mawkish moment at the end but just about pull it off with the score and the performances
Chip Chilla is just ... flat and dull. The kids don't talk like kids. The games have no inventiveness or twist to them. And there's no emotional resonance whatsoever.
It deserves to fail regardless of whether it ripped anything off, because it just doesn't do what it aims to do well. Even Peppa Pig is more inventive and playful

You can also just start your own garden and invite friends over while doing drag. That's basically a community garden.

        LOL

Was funny to watch my parents get "redpilled" and turn sharply into Republicans the second they got their new dream car stolen by a bunch of black teens who then went on joy-riding with it for a couple weeks as the cops literally told my parents the police aren't allowed to chase them or even knock on their door, despite knowing where the teens live, where the car was parked at night, and who specifically the teens were, all because of how stupid Inslee is, and probably partially due to the "defund the police" movement we had too.
They only got their car back because the teens finally totaled it and abandoned it.

        "Socialize"
What public school graduates do isn't socializing, it is interfacing as members of society. When someone is an actual individual, you don't already know how to interact with other actual individuals, that's the proof. It's something to continually learn in your personal life.

You people complain about homeschooling and other things like my approach to cartooning not because you think there's a problem with it, it's because you're threatened that it makes you seem like an NPC because you are

After attending class the parents notice the children acting bizarrely, they(the children) won't tell them what they've learned today in school. It turns out there was a substitute teacher who happened to be a He but presented himself as a she; the He or Mr. Him the children often refer to him behind his back on the school play ground (shutter noises and dark framing with thunder in the background) are quite afraid to speak up after subtle threats the boogie man would get them if they spoke of the paraphernalia Mr. Him shared with the class.
The episode would revolve around the kids banding together in uploading a TikTok video recording the teacher behind his back and getting the parents to rally against a 'problematic' school system.
The moral of the episode enforces a high trust system in families and to question state authority in school. With family friendly music and framing of course
I'll leave it to the editors to make it even more subtle.

It tries to say they're the biggest threat to birds while ignoring the data that shows they kill on average 250K birds which isn't even 1% of the total deaths of the #1 killer of birds in the US which is housecats at over 3 billion bird deaths. Protip: 99% of the time when something "obviously good" gets denied by the R team, or "obviously bad" gets praised by the R team, there's something else in there.

                >"Don't Say Gay" being touted as super evil when all it did was make it illegal to teach kindergarteners sex ed and make it illegal for teachers to hide what they're teaching the kids

At this point I'm pretty sure it's an intentional thing that they do this, Ds will make a bill called "Cure Cancer" for 948725039847205 dollars and literally 0% of the funding goes towards cancer research anyway, Rs say FRICK NO, and then the media (mostly run by the D team here in the US) blows up about how much the R team hates cancer patients.

Because if people like you don't do it, who else will? Besides, when a show is a dud, making (lewd) fanart is all that's left to do, moreover if the character designs are good. And what you have drawn there is another excellent piece, well done.

The biggest irony of all this is that 99% of the people crying about Chip Chilla don't have kids. "It's a ripoff" doesn't matter to kids that age. They will watch Little Baby Bum, Cocomelon, ChuChu TV, and whatever else and give zero fricks that they're all one big ripoff. Why should they care? They're entertained regardless of originality.
In fact, I'd wager a good chuck of the people shitting on Chip Chilla are also anti-natalist losers who turn around and post shit about how babies are parasites.
But at the same time Ben Shapiro is a piece of shit shill for Israel so whatever.

I'm not sure what it's specifically ripping off Bluey.

Most people claim that it's ripping off the art style, which has ground considering the original designs by Ethan Nicolle looked far better and more distinct. Even if you want to make the budget excuse, you can still have the less boring designs if you want to use motion tweens.

The art style plus it's an animal family show.
Whether it is or isn't a ripoff is a moot point when the target audience of little kids simply will not care.

That's what I figured. It's not just that it's a knock off of a show they like, it's that they're screaming "How dare someone try to teach kids values that don't align with my own," while ignoring that they do the same thing themselves.

It's probably more akin to Berenstain Bears where it's "conservative" but not really in your face about it, it's just kind of normal lessons that can be applicable to any kid.

The "politics" though come more from how the show is marketed. It's made for the sole purpose of sticking it to Disney because they had a gay black kid in a mid movie that no one watched and that's supposedly traumatising for children, so Chip Chilla is made as an alternative to Bluey (one of Disney+'s biggest draws) so that children can avert their eyes from the scary gays that show up for two seconds.

The only reason it's review bombed is because of twitter cartoon gays who were told this was bad because it was made by conservatives. That's literally it.

Now I could go on about ben shapiro and his gaggle of nu-right homosexuals who are more interested in creating their own containment shelter from leftist influence (that is how it comes across to me), but that's not the issue here. Obviously this show comes across as, at best, alternative "safe" entertainment for conservative parents for their children. Christians (as well as a few other religious movements) have been doing this for decades (with wildly varying results), but it is fairly obvious that this does seem to be taking more than a few cues from Bluey, so the idea that people would be getting angry about it being a Bluey ripoff makes sense. Except again, most people wouldn't give a shit about it to this degree if it was just a weird Bluey knockoff. There was that one Gumball knockoff a few years ago from China but people were laughing at it because it was so fricking weird and goofy an idea. I don't think anyone actually cared enough to watch through the entire series to prove how le bad it was like people are doing with this show.

The truth is that yes, a lot of the ire directed against this show really does come off as an axe to grind against conservatives. That may come off as a biased statement but a cursory glance at twitter outrage will tell you otherwise. You know what really gets me though? It's that it really does feel more like they want brownie points than anything. And the embarrassing part is that from what it seems, this show is way more fricking boring than unhinged like most people assumed it would be so the whole thing is a huge waste of time.

Also there's shit like this. Dumbass didn't even consider the possibility of pirating it, or deliberately avoided it to gain personal good boy points. Lmao

It's just another MLP scenario except this time we have parents involved.

The way I see it there two types of Bronies
        >There are the jaded ones (ex-Bronies I call em) who came to their senses and were all like, “What the frick? This shit is fricking gay and for little girls, what the frick was I thinking?”
        >Then there are the ones who are still very much into the fandom or who long for the old days of the fandom and the show.
I honestly feel like the latter is desperately looking for the next MLP:FiM, the problem is that show was such a lighting in a bottle, hell it was practically made on accident. Lauren Faust went to Hasbro to pitch her Galaxy Girls show, they said no but asked her to develop a MLP reboot and the rest as they say is history. Something like that will not happen anytime soon, no matter how many Bronies wish for it to. The shows over guys, it’s been more than ten years, move on, there will never be another MLP

Are we finally going to get cartoons made by conservatives or right leaning people now
Since it seems that liberals are starting to lose the control of the animation scene

Art is gay and if I find you doing it, I’ll rip up your party card.
Everyone knows the only thing you can do and not go to hell is law or finance.

Artsy people in general tend to be left leaning and thus, are more likely to get into animation

Most conservatives work 9-5 in the office which is why they aren't as prominent in social media nerd circles

Bentkey should make more knockoffs. Maybe they can do a version of Owl House next so we can finally get Straight Amity.

It would be funny if they made an action style cartoon for kids and it be popular somehow

They'd have to drop the shitty flash animation first.
