No it doesn't. You're thinking of Twitter and Faceberg video view counts.

      Reminder:
      >"Biggest D+ show ever" Kenobi had 12m views in 3 days.
      >Ahsoka had 14m views in 5 days
      >Acolyte is over 8 million views in 2 days

Even worse. I don't know why morons are complaining about faking viewing numbers, they are just wording it to sound good. Biggest Launch on Disney+ in 2024. Means nothing. A brand new Simpsons episode could have higher numbers than that. However, we do know that 4.8 million is an insanely low percentage of their subscriber base.

      Anonymous

What happened to Nielsen rating/share numbers? Disney really wants you to believe 4.8m is good, and maybe it is, but maybe that is nothing.

        Anonymous

They probably suck. If those numbers were good Disney would be telling everyone. The crazy thing is it doesn't matter how many people watched it because Disney is making the same revenue from it if 5 people watched it or 5 million because the only revenue they get is from people buying a Disney+ subscription

This. The story was killed after Variety reported it and smaller sites (which essentially cut and paste/leech from it and the other 3 Penske sites THR, Deadline and Indiewire) parroted it without taking into account this was terrible news for the series.

It's hilarious how we're all pointing this out right now but the industry won't be held accountable for years in all likelihood. Probably until it gets to a point where they need to be bailed out by the government. At which point there will be a massive investigation into how the industry and most likely the marketing industry colluded to keep pumping massive numbers for shit they absolutely knew wasn't generating money anymore. And needless to say shit that seems super obvious to me and my fellow noticers here is going to be "an absolute shock" to everyone else to the possible tune of trillions.

        >It's hilarious how we're all pointing this out right now but the industry won't be held accountable for years in all likelihood
While it's true that it takes years for the industry to react, keep in mind we're already 3 years into the big indicators and they will never say it but they're nooticing.
-They nooticed when top gun blew it out of the water two years ago.
-They nooticed when avatar still did big despite every film snob telling me it's overrated and not worthy of respect
-They nooticed when Hogwarts legacy crushed it despite a very aggressive cancel campaign involving troons making it *very* clear that if you buy this you want them dead
-They nooticed as early as 2021 when marvel, one of the biggest money printers of all time turned into a shit printer
-They nooticed when barbie, the most traditionally girly thing imaginable got every female(tm) on earth to come out while the marvels, charlies angels, and a slew of other action movies did not.
-They nooticed a few months ago how movies from 20 years ago dominated the box office (actually hilarious)
-They just nooticed that helldivers made a frickton of money and they know very well nobody playing it is doing it to enjoy the "satire", they want something where they don't play as a resistance of lame children but instead play as badasses who kill inferior beings.
It is overwhelmingly clear that everyone is tired of all the shit they've been pushing since the summer of love.

Why is it so easy for chuds to destroy media?
Stranger things season 1 cost $6M per episodes and had 8 episodes meaning the show cost about $50M to make
It also had an average viewership of 14M adults for its first month and 70% of people who started the show finished (if Netflix numbers are to be believed). It was the third most successful Netflix show to date when it came out.
The acolyte cost $180M to make (or $22.5M per episode) and has around 5M viewers (if Disney’s numbers are to be believed)
Assuming generously that the acolytes numbers hold and they average 5M viewers per day, that would give them 150M viewers in a month to Stranger Things 420M
This means that stranger things got ~8 viewers for every dollar spent while the acolyte got 0.8 viewers for every dollar spent.

I was wondering the same thing after furiosa bombed
Maybe the acolyte and furiosa never had a chance though
I look forward to seeing what the power of the chud can do to deadpool

Deadpool's going to have a massive opening, it's going to break the bank when it finally releases for the same reason Spider Man No Way Home broke all kind of records, nostalgia bait + People liked the "Starring" character already.

If it goes TLJ it's going to have a similar harsh as frick drop.

High opening views were a given, most if not all star wars fans are gonna at least check it out.

But viewer retention is going to be the biggest Issue for this show. It is incredibly boring and disjointed, the characters are stunted and uninteresting.
I dont think many people will even reach episode 5 before dropping the show.

That rating is 1/3 the amount of the lowest rated episode of Seinfeld which nearly got the show canceled.
