This is not the win we wanted, but it's the win we deserved.

Funko raised a higher percentage, but that doesn't mean that it made more.
I'm guessing that it did, but the percentage rising alone doesn't tell me that.

It is true, even trash like Boruto and Dragonball Super is better than Spider-Man getting cucked.

I thought funkos were not selling well and they had to destroy a warehouse

Overestimating how big your inventory needs to be doesn't always mean not selling well, especially if your product has a good margin.

Comic shops are a small part of the overall retail sector for Funkos, and tend to take conservative positions on stock. Comic shops are selective and restock only those Funkos that sell for them. Funko Pop is in trouble because of the characters that don't sell.

You also need to account for the fact that he didn't differentiate between new release Funkos and trade in ones, the profit could mainly be from higher value collectible ones bought at a better margin than the new ones.

Hard to find out about them without literally researching comic books. Who has the time for that beyond hardcore hobbyists?

    >Think, 'oh man, i hate these. I really don't even want this, what a waste of plastic'

When hobby/media stores start upsizing their funko displays, that's a death sentence. It happened to hastings, it's happening to gamestop, and I sure as hell don't want it happening to my LCS'

My comic shop has shrunk the Funkos down to a tiny shelf thank frick, hopefully Americans end up doing the same

Because Funkos don't butcher the characters people like as much as modern comics do.
