Dead gangsters are like dead prostitutes, way too many suspects to bother most of the time. With gangsters there's the added factor that murderer will likely be dead themselves anyway relatively soon.
the 50% of murders that don't get solved are ghetto blacks gunning down other black men over money or a woman and then the community refuses to help the police out of their stupid self defeating omerta.
It would have been a near certainty that Paulie and Chris got caught for this wacky murder considering its a high end restauraunt and area and there's cameras everywhere
There were no certain cameras it was the early 2000's. Even if there was another staff member who DID know, they would likely be too scared to be a witness. Why would you want to risk it all for some dumb head waiter that was probably a c**t. Besides, the cops didn't know them down there.

happened when i was in NY.
my first day there, I go to a diner and get a burger. pay and the guy runs out after me asking why i didn't tip. i wasa so confused.
fricking usa and allowing employers to abuse their workers with these tips is just mind blowing (and it just being socially accepted!?).
Most cops don't give a shit about petty crime like bike theft or assault. But I'm sure they treat murder a lot more seriously depending on where you are.
One of the bigger weak points of the Sopranos is how many crimes are committed in broad daylight in front of countless witnesses. Tony and Chris not getting picked up for the Mahaffey beatdown in the pilot is especially laughable. This show didn’t take place in the 60s, mob guys weren’t untouchable, you can’t just go around in public causing mayhem like a GTA character and get away with it
The choice whether to charge someone with a crime is up to the prosecutor, not the victim. If known mobsters were witnessed hitting a guy with a car and beating him up in public, charges would be brought.
It was witnessed by dozens of people and I highly doubt all of them knew that it was a mob thing. By the late 90s the mob had lost most of its power, I highly doubt they’d be able to intimidate every witness into silence
The pilot is almost non canon, Tony talked completely different and the side characters like Sil were almost different characters. Season 1 had a lot of weird issues, like Hesh practically acted like he was part of Tony's crew then.
Most fine dining restaurants have an automatic % built into the bill for large parties or bills over a certain dollar threshold. And only a moron would peg Chris & Pauley as mobsters. Waiter was an butthole
this is the main reason I hate the american tipping system, I would rather they just up the price of the food a bit and pay their workers a decent fricking wage, it feels like the restaurant system is a scam both on consumers and on it's employees
Why do waiters feel like they deserve to make as much as a plumber, welder, or software engineer? They're just servants bringing food. They don't even make the food. A monkey could do their job.
While it's true most wagie servers could be replaced by robots, if you eat at fancy places you can tell when you're getting masterful service and there's definitely something of a craft to respect there.
>doesn't properly speak the language when that's pretty much the only thing the job demands of him >starts arguments with customers >insults obvious mobsters >forgets to take his butthole medicine

Honestly stuff like this makes me want to go to the USA and leave no tip and if they complain ask them their employers are paying them so little they rely on strangers generosity to make a living
Unless it’s a cute girl I which case I’ll tip a little
How did Chris get away with shooting that bakery guy in the foot? Cops were even looking for his car. Tons of other customers also saw him in the store.

Shoulda thrown a rock at him.
>Philly picks up Gigi at the airport with dozens of witnesses >Gigi kills him in broad daylight in the same car in the middle of a neighborhood
The crimes the family gets away with make the show a borderline comedy.

have you guys never watched any true crime documentaries? the cops are fricking moronic >all signs point to the boyfriend killing his gf >cops never even speak to him, let him leave the country
>cop contaminates evidence, destroys the validity of the crime scene and forces a confession from a mentally handicapped 70 year old in a wheelchair
>guy was in prison during the murder >cops focus all their efforts interrogating/investigating him never realizing this
I made up the middle one, but I've actually seen the other two in a documentary.
>we're supposed to just believe that they somehow got away with this murder
Yes, I'm sure the cops would be all over it.
Yes because he's a civilian and it would have been easy to figure out who the perps were
Seems plausible that the cops would read the situation as the waiter getting mugged and gunned down.
It is laughable how most of the murders are carried out in the series.
Like half of all murders are unsolved. Cops legit just don't care and if you look at the wages they get i wouldn't either.
Don't bother, most people think each police each case is like an episode of CSI. The majority of all crime goes unsolved
>another mobster turns up dead
>police: *crickets*
>some teenagers demolish a trophy cabinet
>police: WHO MADE THIS PIZZA?
I dont blame them, id rather solve comfy petty crimes than deal with some dead mobsters
Dead gangsters are like dead prostitutes, way too many suspects to bother most of the time. With gangsters there's the added factor that murderer will likely be dead themselves anyway relatively soon.

Or just the fact that they had just paid a bill and the last thing he ever did was go and talk to the customers about it
They mention they were in an unfamiliar area at the time and who knows if the waiter told anyone else where he was going.
What? I think I seen a couple of Black folk running that way.

You know you can pretty much assault anyone you want and walk free if they don't press charges?
The choice whether to charge someone with a crime is up to the prosecutor, not the victim. If known mobsters were witnessed hitting a guy with a car and beating him up in public, charges would be brought.
If a witness recognized who they were there's a good chance they wouldn't cooperate with the police.

It was $16
I'M TAPPED OUT
you're right. he's still an butthole.
He wasn't American though? He was Mexican or some shit
Americans would rather risk a bullet in the head than get a slightly lower tip
Should’ve taken his epilepsy meds and there wouldn’t have been any issues
>earrape is funny
yes because it makes suckers like you cry
get dabbed on
>The fricking chase scene
>do americans really?
No, entitled immigrants really
most immigrants arent entitled. it is usually the second generation that act like total gays. t. chicano
What did this happen in again? I know I've seen the scene I just can't place it
Chissy taped out.
>dies holding the check of his murderers
>no one follows up
it’s moronic, even if they paid in cash
They took that and the money with them.
This is one of the stupidest scenes in the show. A burger flipper could have pinned these guys as mob members.
Most fine dining restaurants have an automatic % built into the bill for large parties or bills over a certain dollar threshold. And only a moron would peg Chris & Pauley as mobsters. Waiter was an butthole
>don't pay employees enough money
>they have to harass customers instead of you for money
the perfect scam
this is the main reason I hate the american tipping system, I would rather they just up the price of the food a bit and pay their workers a decent fricking wage, it feels like the restaurant system is a scam both on consumers and on it's employees
I didn't feel any sympathy for this prick, but there's no fricking way Paulie and Chris would've gotten away with this
Why do waiters feel like they deserve to make as much as a plumber, welder, or software engineer? They're just servants bringing food. They don't even make the food. A monkey could do their job.

Mate please, I'm at work and you just made me kek out loud.

>autistic esl challenging an American wagie over an accepted economic practice
The stuttering and cringe would be off the charts
I’m English I was just typing on my phone with greasy pizza fingers
How did Chris get away with shooting that bakery guy in the foot? Cops were even looking for his car. Tons of other customers also saw him in the store.
See
The guy would not go witness.
Still one of the most funny scenes in the sopranos. They could have made a show out of Paulie and Chris antics collecting money and everything.
Might have to rewatch sopranos now. But what the frick was waiter thinking?
Why should i tip? That's right, never tipped never will
It's a good feeling when you live in a civilised country without american tipping culture.
Watch this scene
. I'm pretty sure they make fun of that very plot hole.
The way they investigate the pizza seems like a parody.
was meant for

The crimes the family gets away with make the show a borderline comedy.
DON'T THEY HAVE MEDICINE THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO TAKE, THESE buttholeS?
only tip in they arte white
>we will never get a Paulie and Chrissy show
;_;

Would you have the balls to press charges on Paulie anons?
Yes. Are people really scared of fat dumb Italian fricks in their 70s?
