Yes but then jigsaw would put Colombo in a trap. And then Colombo would find a way out, and then jigsaw will put him through a maze…
Colombo never catches anyone. he just gets them to confess.
so he couldnt get a mute killer?
Frick that would have been a good episode.
He would get him to confess on paper or something, still a good idea
yeah missed opportunity
This
Jigsaw’s problem is that he’s hard to track because of an extreme lack of evidence. Columbo doesn’t typically collect and analyze evidence. He parses the processed evidence to draw conclusions.
Nah columbo is basically certain that hey did it ahead of time with a completely unknown amount of information, then he gets them to confess because he just knows they did it
I can go down every episode of Columbo and point out exactly where Columbo gets his confidence from in each episode. There’s even an episode that shows him getting overconfident and initially getting the wrong guy - “Last Salute to the Commodore”.
A Port in the Storm
I don’t recall specifically but I believe the stomach was empty in the diving suit from having been locked in the wine cellar during Adrian’s vacation which made little sense for a dive. That or no alcohol in the stomach and being too experienced of a diver for that sort of accident.
isn't columbo just a harasser who has magic space god powers that makes him know every crime every individual has done
According to the show he's a genius in one particular area which is crime solving, if you fricking moved a curtain while murdering someone he'll notice and somehow trace it back to you.
I don't think he'd be able to catch Jigsaw because Jigsaw isn't connected to his victims, usually Columbo finds a clue and then interviews people who knew the person to try and figure out which one of them did it.
> usually Columbo finds a clue and then interviews people who knew the person to try and figure out which one of them did it.
Usually they spend half an hour showing the murder and then Colombo first appears by walking into the room of the murder to talk to the murderer who is waiting there. The murder usually takes place in whichever room of the murderer’s home that he meets guests such as police officers
But before I leave Mr. Jigsaw, just one more thing.... it seems as though you have an entire warehouse full of torture devices and mutilated body parts. That’s an interesting coincidence don’t ya think?
My god,Columbo.
20 years I've been on this case and in 60 minutes, including those times when you stood still and called it a "commercial break", you cracked the case.
To answer your question honestly - in the early seasons, there would typically be a moment where Columbo would see something that no one else saw and would get a look on his face that would let you know that he knew the prevailing narrative wasn’t the likeliest one. For example, in “Troubled Waters”, Columbo finds a feather outside a bedridden patient’s room. For reasons I won’t spoil, it heavily implies that foul play is involved. The camera zooms in on Columbo’s face and you’re meant to know that he no longer believes suicide to be possible.
I don't think any of the theories columbo makes up would stand in trial.
i don't think columbo would care enough to go into courtrooms with fool proof evidence considering the fact his sole intention is to catch criminals in on the action to avoid participating a courtroom trial to begin with
He’d have to testify in “Negative Reaction” since he’s one of only three witnesses that can provide the convicting testimony.
I thought the puppet was the bad guy
>"Excuse me, Mr. Jigsaw, is your son at home?"
>"I noticed he's quite the cyclist and we found tire tracks outside the victim's apartment"
>spends 2hrs grilling a puppet in the hallway while Jigsaw is inside laughing his ass off
Baker could catch Jigsaw and teach him a little bit of his own medicine. John Kramer would actually just surrender because there are a lot of people that don't deserve to be in his traps at all. He's basically just a plushie at this point.
The real question is whether these lil homies could catch Jigsaw.
>sits in the kramers car with him at the end
>"i brought something along"
>takes out old vintage piss water kramer loves
>kramer takes a long drink
>columbo gets out fast and locks the doors remote
>"that was a full bottle of laxatives you have 1 minute to find the nearest toilet"
>car is suddenly lifted by a demolisher crane and dropped into the ocean
Columbo gets introduced to the perpetrator in the opening minutes of the show, and then doggedly harasses that person until circumstantial evidence leads to a confession.
Being the main character is a foolproof strategy for solving crime.
no, you can ask me why? because kramer was never hiding in front of police who he was, he was not trying to affect the investigation and it was main strength of columbo, people were trying to affect his work
columbo was able to catch hoffman, but not cramer
Kramer isn’t rich he is by definition unable to afford healthcare, so they wouldn’t send columbo
>get detective who caters to the wealthy
>he locks your ass up instead of looking the other way and rubberstamping some docs
what what the plan?
Have you SEEn Saw?
If it's Halloween, you must SEE Saw.
Jigsaw = JigC
Baker = MC
Afraid of Jigsaw? No, I enjoy MC content.
Actual DA here, Jigsaw walks, every time. You can't prosecute him for anything
Actual, unironic DA here--Jigsaw is hella based fr fr
Why do zoomers like Colombo now this is so fricking weird?
Because the show becomes a lot more watchable if you can look up which episodes to skip. Also, episode one was Spielberg and arguably his first directorial effort so it’s highly interesting to most people. The investigation team scene is worth the hour alone.
We’re Gen Xers and we’re going back in time for more content
Columbo is a genuinely entertaining franchise from a long time ago. Why are you trying to associate it with Saw, a franchise so shitty that the "villain" commits not crime?
I feel like James Bond or MacGyver could do it, they would have a good chance at escaping
James Bond always has some ho looking to catch some dick rescue him from those sorts of things. I guess if he gets Amanda to fall for him then it could work.
MacGyver, sure he can get out and that would be interesting. The only thing though is that he hates hurting people so it'd be tough getting him to break his code in order to take down Jiggy. Maybe make the entire movie about them trying to get each other to break their code.
Bond would use a gadget
Jigsaw would have to be doing international political crime though which seems out of his wheelhouse, and for it to be a James Bond movie you’d have to have a super cool locale. I would say Jigsaw could try to take down big pharma by capturing and torturing people somewhere, but he’s probably come off as too good a guy for James Bond to take down.
Jigs would be one of the big bad's top generals. His torturer.
Oh nice, I like that idea.
Jigsaw would put Columbo in a trap
>Hello Frank, you always made your targets confess their darkest secrets however this time you have to confess, in front of you is a huge heavy bowl of extra spicy chili on a scale that is to heavy to lift, when you have eaten everything the scale will tip opening the door you have 5 minutes, if you fail you the room will fill with Sarin, live or die make your choice.
Columbo would make Jigsaw give up the solution to the trap
>wow that’s a real interesting jaw maiming trap, Mr Jigsaw, real impressive work there. Anyways looks like I’m gonna go die now, just one other thing…
No.
"Catch" him for what?
He didn't do anything.
>Detective Columbo I have planted the key behind your eye, if you wish to escape you'll have to--
>Columbo just pops his eye out
he would catch him, only to realize he had committed no real crimes
