Just finished reading Nueromancer and it has me in the mood for some more cyberpunk media.
What are the best/your favorite cyberpunk films out there or some movies with a similar vibe to Nueromancer, Cinemaphile?
Other than The Matrix.

>cyberpunk
First season of Altered Carbon was pretty decent
Johnny mnemonic
Overdrawn at the memory bank
Strange days
>Strange Days
This right here. Underappreciated classic!
I mean did cyberpunk do anything new or original
When you’re a kid, you’re too busy fapping to the guy strangling naked women to appreciate this hidden Fines-kino
strange days and johnny mnemonic for sure, and read virtual light if you haven't yet
>Just finished reading Nueromancer
lol no you fricking didn't. You saw "cyberpunk" on the steam tag for that new cat game.
The "prerendered cutscenes from a 90s adventure game" aesthetic is kino.
The one and only.
I feel like the only person that remembers the Total Recall 2070 show. Thought it was kinda cool.
Are Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive as good as Neuromancer? Or at least worth reading?
I thought so.
You should also check out Neal Stephenson. Snow Crash, and The Diamond Age are pretty good.
Actually just picked up Snow Crash from the library a couple days ago!
Unrelated: Why does it feel like Cyberpunk (the franchise by Mike Pondsmith) lifted a lot of ideas directly from Gibson's work in Neuromancer?
>The Diamond Age
Is that a another cyberpunk novel?
Ghost in the Shell
Parasyte Dolls
Max Headroom tv series
Original Robocop trilogy
There's a lot out there, especially if you like 80s anime.
If you have the self control to not read the Wikipedia or a synopsis before watching it, go watch Cypher (2002). If you get spoilers first, don't bother
Never heard of it. So will check out. Thanks.
Almost Human with Karl Urban deserved more attention and more seasons than it got tbqh.

i want a shadowrun movie because im stupid
for the same reason, i also want an arcanum movie
i will write them myself if i have to
That could be cool, anon. Would like to see a cool depiction of a Decker or a Rigger. I played the latter several times with my old group and it was a fun and unique role.
shadowrun would make a great tv show. you set the first season when magic is returning to the world. set up all the big corpos like Renraku. Also show the dragons building up their power and wealth.
major kino
A hardcore rigger jacked into a tank killing dragons would be cool ngl
Sounds like Cyberpunk Reign of Fire
so that would be the bad guy because the dragons keep worse shit out and that's not just from the video game dragonfall. they got that idea from the shadowrun books
I said it would be cool, not smart. Maybe the rigger that does it is a fricking idiot or a racist.
Has no one said Blade Runner or BR2049 yet?
