>D00D BLOOD MERIDIAN IS LITERALLY TOO VIOLENT TO GET A FILM ADAPTATION IT'S THAT HARDCORE MAN
He says, in a world where Terrifier and a Serbian Film exist. Never read the book and most likely never will, give me one example of it being "too violent."
shut up gay
When did they say that in the book?
There are no bookfags on /misc/, this is a television and film board.
>humans are... le violent
Wow, great insight, Cormac.
More like
>The spirit of life is violence, kys
it's more that the amount of scenes to compress into plot in just 1 movie (with enough drawn out portrayal of violence) probably can't be done well
back then you could kill a man and walk away knowing nothing much will come with it, fuck whores and get aids because you might be killed tomorrow anyways, kill a man over 3 dollars
i agree, maybe if it was done as a mini series? Needs a decent budget, lots of a extras, and alot of sunscreen.
they say 'moron' a lot and kill Indians
>the sky is red like blood and what if there was a big terrible pasty dude oooooh
Suttree is the better novel
>le west was le wild
holy shit
American Psycho is more unfilmable than Blood Meridian.
the nword gets said lots
that word is more violent than a holocaust
In all seriousness though, it's probably only scalping that's not adaptable to film.
I guarantee scalping has been in movies before
Yeah, true. I'm pretty sure django if you live, shoot did it in the 60's.
I think modern companies have too many gays at the helm to risk it though. Let alone hundreds of scalpings, and scalpings of women and children.
i look like this but i don't say th- actually i might have said that
Nothing about the book is unfilmable. It's a bunch of cowboys and one of them is a resident evil tyrant.
i guess:
>when the Delaware's start smashing Indian babies onto rocks until their heads burst and begin to look like large limp socks afterwards. >Theres a part where where two dogs get thrown into a rushing river and then get blasted by a rifle
>multiple instances of kids getting killed/ heavily implied raped or just being naked getting killed.
it could be argued that the book puts indians and mexicans in a bad light, tho not like the americans look any better.
personally i think its def possible to make a movie out of it. but it needs a good director who knows what hes doing. And, smaller stars, no A-listers.
How many white on underage native girl rape scenes are in those?
Who are you quoting>?
You’re an idiot. The violence isn’t the issue, it’s the fact that the book spends entire chapters on scenery and metaphor. I guess, if someone really wanted to, they could transfer it over to cinema, but it would be too long for any commercial release, especially today.
>it's le metaphor
gay shit
low IQ
midwit
War and Peace has 365 chapters, many of which are just the author explaining his thoughts or philosophies on life, war, humanity, and many more just explaining real world history or detailing real battles in the Napoleonic wars
It's been adapted a number of times, but there's no realistic way to adapt the whole thing faithfully
aren’t there other books that are more violent? Like off season or something?
What makes the book so good is the language it uses to describe things. That doesn't translate to film easily.
This is the superior Mccarthy bookino, blood meridian is boring as shit. Knoxville is a kino city as well btw
Make the lost izalith part of dark souls a movie. Then I'll be impressed.
>give me one example of it being "too violent."
not violent but the one where judge has a naked native girl chained implying used for sex.
