There’s a shy girl/woman (she’s around 30 I believe) at my office who recently published a young adult novel at a small publisher, and even though I don’t know her that well I decided to read it because I thought it was cool and interesting that she wrote it and got it published.
The book is alright and surprisingly edgy, but frick it’s VERY clearly written by a woman who has never been in a relationship and is probably still a virgin. There are so many weird femcel moments and bizarre misconceptions about men that aren’t that bad but that are definitely the product of a woman who has never been close to a man aside from her father (the obvious self-insert protagonist’s father is also the most perfect and righteous character in the book) and who has zero IRL knowledge of relationships or romanticism.
She’s not fat or ugly at all. Just short and introverted, I guess? Kind of skinny but that's not a problem for most people I think. Her nose looks kind of mediocre although not strange enough for it to be noteworthy (it's really not that bad)... if not for that her book’s self-insert protagonist is extremely insecure about her nose and keeps bringing up her "disfigured" nose. It’s the very first description of what the character looks like, even.
