the shooting was the incompetence portion of the show, the corruption was the aftermath where the cops did everything in their power from lying to coverups to hide the incompetence. unfortunately they fricked up so bad that higher ups in government were forced to investigate, which alongside private investigations, really blew up everything in their faces.
from what I just recall,
-they claimed to not be trained for the situation, had paid for a high cost training course less than 6 months earlier.
-said they didn't have the gear, armed equal too or greater than the gunman.
-did straight up abusive actions as crowd control than lied about it
-straight up tried to frame it as a teachers fault
-straight up made up a timeline they looked good in, got caught
-investigated their actions, found everything a-ok, no need to check their work
also not the guy you're beefing with just filling in the blanks he admittedly left
