By the perspective of Disney this would be an adequate choice for a live action remake. No?

Every Disney movie from the 2000s flopped or underperformed aside from Pixar

This is one of the very few Disney films that could actualy have a decent live action film. Instead, they make live action The Lion King like the morons that they are.

Because the Lion King made them a shitload of money

It makes sense if you stop holding onto the idea that Disney gives a shit about making art anymore

Why can't we have diversity like this anymore? It's ironic how movies and shows back then had better diversity than nowadays and without even trying.

This. Atlantis's mutliracial crew worked because they were good characters first and ethnicities second. Now it's "we gotta have a black guy, who is gonna be black?" or "we gotta have a gay girl, but not too gay because China".

Disagree, they were straight up one note caricatures all of which went through the same exact character development. They were greedy mercenaries but realized victimizing the living people of Atlantis was wrong so they changed. This only served to make them stand out even less.

that's exactly the point, modern shit is doing diversity as a "frick you" to white people whereas older stuff had different characters because it made the main cast more fun.
Diversity in fiction and in real life only works when it's not forced.

No offense, but even if you do diversity right sooner or later people will get tired of it especially in a country that is still majority white. Sooner or later they will wonder "Hey bastard company, why aren't you servicing me your countrymen?"

Personally I think it's wonderful, I want Disney to destroy its reputation and I want the anti white agenda to be even bigger by the israeli Mouse. I want to see Chapek and his israeli Toadies destroy Disney from within and bonus if the same illness infects Viacom, Warner, Comcast, etc.

Disney Theme Parks are full of darker then average Atlantis/Treasure Planet type stuff to the point where Imagineering's been lumping all the Atlantis-esque pulp adventure/steampunk adjacent stuff into a shared universe.

The real problem Disney has is that the Princess Industrial Complex rotted the studios brains and trained the audience to only ever expect PIC content from their animation studios.

You have to appreciate the irony of disney "trying" to capture the boy market by doing those live action boy films, like John Carter, TRON Legacy etc and them all flopping or outright bombing so they just buy Marvel instead. And the they buy Lucaafilm and try to make the series for girls.

And then they are sitting on Atlantis and Treasure Planet which are near perfect for the boy market and live action treatment.

Just imagining the monkeys at disney trying to figure out how to make films for boys and not being able to for 20 yeara is hilarious. And to have the SW stuff ending up pivoting to girls.

      Kek.

The problem with Atlantis and Treasure Planet is simply that they failed to impress boys even when they were new.

And another problem is that the things boys like? This is something Disney will basically never do. Even Nickelodeon's Avatar as much as I hate that trash understood a few things about how to appeal to boys. Make an adventure themed premise that contains action, well animate action at that, cool super powers as well, and frankly given how ugly female characters are? The females in Avatar are actually quite attractive so I'm not surprised we still hear about Ty Lee getting boys interested in girls and such.

Now tell me does any of the above sound like elements a blatantly Feminine Focused company like Disney would ever do? No way. Disney would never even hire someone who has ideas that could interest male customers. And this isn't a problem with just Disney. The other companies are the same. When was the last time you saw Nickelodeon making anything that could appeal to boys? What about CN? After they ruined Adventure Time I have no confidence in them.

Not a surprise anime stole the attention of boys. And also Japanese video games. The west declared war on boys so boys invest their time and ask their families to buy Japanese media.

          > Not a surprise anime stole the attention of boys.
Not just boys, girls on average stop watching cartoons all together. Some are still into Disney because Nostalgia but on average they aren’t interested any new cartoons that dedicated to them. Even Queer girls aren’t investing their money to save cartoons that have queer representation. They mostly support of buying shonen merch and rarely on cartoons they support due to queer representation.

Not a surprise. Anime has the Shoujo genre so that satisfied girls. Especially since the characters there look visually more appealing than western toon styles like Owl House and whatever. It's not said often, but western cartoons have a huge problem with the ugly or mediocre art styles most of them have. I could never take Adventure Time's drama seriously because the characters looked too stupid.

How is it possible to post something so moronic and think you're right? Marvel properties make money hand over fist and boys love them and the most popular and profitable video games are almost all western. You sound like one of those weeb morons who thinks everyone only consumes nip shit when the reality is different

Star wars clone wars series, bad batch, and samurai jack are also movies that appeal to boys. It's pretty funny you mention anime, because my sister started watching anime because I watched anime growing up ans then later when I asked why she likes shit like final fantasy and inuyasha it was purely because she found the boys cute.

They switched gears in the avatar series by introducing korra and you can tell it was marketed to females, because girls LOVE shipping and they love petty drama like the shut you see between suyin and Bolin. After season 1 I just completely lost interest.

      Shin Nadia when?
It would be a great way for Anno to rebuild Nadia since the original went through a troubled production and the final product was far from Anno's original vision.
Shin Nadia would be great. Bonus points if it can somehow tie into the rest of the Shin Japan Heroes Universe with Shin Evangelion, Shin Godzilla, Shin Ultraman, and Shin Kamen Rider.

    Alright heres the question.
What was the calamity that sunk Atlantis in the first place? I think they were testing an atomic bomb, one made and fired in a different way - so large in fact that the tsuname it made destroyed the city.
