What can Disney even say at this point? They can't come out and say the REAL reason why all these movies are flopping: because the capeshit fad is over and people are tired of superhero films. Because that would mean that they, and for that matter all of Hollywood, was staring oblivion in the face, given how much of the entire modern infrastructure of the American film industry is built around raking in profits from capeshit.
I'd say that capeshit isn't really dead. GotG3 and Spiderverse did pretty well. But a string of bad/mediocre movies meant that people won't give capeshit movies the benefit of the doubt anymore. They'll need really good word of mouth if they want to get as much money as it did back when Phase 3 was in full swing

That's not the issue. Spider-Man did well. The next Batman will do well. Deadpool will do crazy. If they did a new Iron Man movie it would do well. A new proper Captain America movie would as well. X-Men will do amazing. People just don't care about these "literally who" diversity hire characters unless they're attached to a hype machine. And there's is zero hype happening in Mahvel right now. You can't just throw any whozits in a movie, slap the Marvel brand on it, and expect a billy. Not anymore. Too many mediocre movies featuring nothing characters. Time for Disney to actually try again.

Comic books are for male geeks. Virgin types. Awkward shut-ins with no lives. etc etc. And there's a lot of those types of people out there, enough to get your movies hyped to the tune of $2.797 billion. Don't complain when you go out of your way to make your movies unappealing to those types of people and no one shows up. You can't just buy up geek properties like Marvel and Star Wars, try to force change the target demographic to appeal to the same types of people who watch live action Disney demakes and The Barbie Movie, and expect to keep the money train rolling. Trying to get male eyes was *THE* entire reason who retards bought these properties up in the first place.
