Personally, I'm indifferent to it. I know it's a big request on the casual-side, and I understand the certain connections between the two, but as long as the fight itself looks good, that's all I'm really here for with this one. I haven't started CSM yet, and I'm only partway into JJK, so I'm certainly unable to give a proper opinion on it. Though from what I've read with comments here, I believe Makima has more convincing wincons available to her compared to Gojo, though ultimately this also falls down to what DB themselves interpret their abilities as (like the Japan contract or Hollow Purple erasure). As for the next ep? Frick I don't know. They dropped the ball hard if it's actually the Halloween ep by not just switching it and Gojo vs Makima, and they wasted good eps as podcasts this month. I can only cope and say, with the "passion projects" comment and likely new IPs, Hellboy vs Devilman. And while it's capeshit, Mysterio vs Scarecrow could be kino if they do it right. Yeah, in terms of excitement for something upcoming, for me it was probably DB vs CU (until I heard Swan was heading the research for it), Vader vs Obito, Cole vs Alex, and maybe Frieza vs Megatron (which helps given it had one of the best fights this season)
I can respect those takes, I'm similarly hoping (perhaps vainly) for a Scarecrow vs Mysterio or Devilman vs Hellboy match.
Personally, I'm hoping they'll finally get around to Crypto vs Zim as a match, always thought it would work well as a Halloween match, plus it's just a long-time favorite of mine.
As for Gojo vs Makima, I recently read through Chainsaw Man to try and avoid being spoiled by the episode, and I honestly loved it! Highly recommend it, and I think it's gotten me considerably more hyped for the matchup through transitive property. I don't know much about JJK or Gojo, most people seem to be rooting for him, but honestly I still have hope Makima can pull out a win. A lot of Gojo's abilities require a lot of interpretation, as you pointed out, while Makima's win cons are a lot more cut and dry.
I think Makima wins, high diff, but it's so close it could go either way.

The whole “lost episode” gimmick was wasted by just making it a leftover script, btw. Gojo vs. Makima is a bad match because of all the what ifs on Makima's ill defined powers, and Gojo's hyperbole. It's actually an excellent booking now, since both series are still pretty popular it'll bring in numbers, but in a few years, it would likely be shit. Like Kilsaka may not have been a bad match during the height of Index popularity, but currently it's bad because it was an obvious stomp no one gave a shit about.
There's a difference between booking quality and matchup quality. Booking is purely about getting those views. You can have the finest matchup in the world, both thematically and animation potential, but if no one cares, you might as well not bother with it, because all the behind the scenes guys don't work for free, and if it can't make it's money back, then there is no point. Ironically, the subs help them out by subsidizing the work, so they can profit off the views, so even a shit match like Killsaka or Machoman vs. Koolaid, could make them money, but they're shooting themselves in the foot with this no early access for popular matches, because people are likely to cancel their subs over it.
Yeah, I'm not fond of Gojo vs Makima, but I cannot deny the numbers it's going to do. They were smart to do it, and also very lucky that they happened to line up with an event bringing Gojo to fresh prominence. We'll see if that works out with the early access thing.

Why make a trial period of a new policy during the debut of these eps, or push back the actual Halloween ep into November?
