Why are the feet like that?
I mean, I get that it's supposed to be like Dexter's boots, but I feel like there's a better way of doing it than having the heel be just a shorter version of the front "toe" part.
>I feel like there's a better way of doing it than having the heel be just a shorter version of the front "toe" part.
There isn't one that doesn't violate the show's inherent aesthetic while still paying homage to the Japanese mecha anime that they're obviously going for.
Why do they have to have hopes and dreams to become a character, you do realize that having motivation isn't what makes a character right, like personality, interest, would you say Rick is a stock character because he's a mad scientist
Genndy is, at heart, an action director. he's not a very good artist, he really can't draw a lot of things. and the russian handicap is clearly there too. But his action is amazing, so he wanted even a silly cartoon to have lots of amazing action scenes.
Unironically yes
FOP in its prime is animated like slop, its artstyle is derived from the same UPA influences but heavily neutered and that's why the same headshape is used for so many characters, the sound design in Dexter's was better, also >Steve Rucker > Guy Moon
CN was the weakest of all networks for nearly a decade until they stopped making cartoons.
Disney had Ducktales, WB had Batman, and Nick had Ren and Stimpy. Nick only jumped to relevancy town with PPG, Samurai Jack and Billy and Mandy in the 00s
this reply is confusing, CN has the most consistent in terms of shows out of any of the networks throughout the decade even during its golden age every cartoon cartoon was great
dexter johnny and C&C cannot be compared to the competition. They aren't bad, just not on the same level. For the longest time CN was endless reruns of looney tunes, T&J and HB. Dexter was the most watched cartoon on the channel, but not on TV as a whole, that's why they were weaker in the sense that they really weren't producing anything that stood out.
CN's best era will always be Cartoon City. At that point not only had a well established collection of original content, but had the DCAU on their channel, and Toonami carrying the nights.
Yeah looking back this show genuinely had great sci fi premises and action. I remember being really into the episode where Monkey meets that super smart ape that was a test subject for NASA.
Favorite episodes Cinemaphile? Out of the ones I remember, I really liked the ones where Dexter was making his own action figures and also the DnD one.
>You're walking, and you're walking, and you're walking...
Favorite Dexter episode, the star treck one.
Favorite Monkey Episode the one with Macho Man Randy Savage
Favorite Justice friend Episode, Valhallen's room
>Nice uniform. You on some kind of sports team? >I'm The Blue Falcon. >Oh right, the Falcons! You guys didn't do hot last season, huh? >I'm The Blue Falcon! >Aww, don't be blue. I'm sure you'll do better next season!
Why was she so mean to Mandark?
I can understand in the Savino seasons since he was the antagonist but not the Genndy seasons where he was more of a harmless rival.
Remember that episode when Dexter and this other whose name sounds similar to him switched to other families, especially one whose parents are geniuses? Could they be Dexter's real parents and got switched at birth?

there's jump jets in the feet. extremely common and good mecha design.
But why are the heels curved?
Dexter wears platform shoes and the Robo Dexo 3000 is a mecha version of him, so it incorporates his platform shoes
Did the back of Dexter's shoes have that curve? Or even any amount of protrusion to the back?
Because I don't think they did.
yeah, they look like heels.
His heels don't protrude out, they go down.
It's a stylistic choice. Maybe they double as second set of hands in space?
Looks like Macross feet.

I didn’t like dexters lab and I didn’t like power puff girls and I didn’t like Samurai Jack.
All better than moron shit like EE&E
Now now, settle down, you can both be moronic homosexuals.
Genndy
Now give me can take all the credit
More cooler than The Simpsons
I don't think the Simpsons was ever meant to be cool
Because it was a everything and the kitchen sink show, since the characters are stocks there is more time for cool action.
Stock?
Mad scientist, annoying sister, mom, dad, rival, etc. They are less characters with hopes and dreams and more instruments for cool action.
But his action is amazing, so he wanted even a silly cartoon to have lots of amazing action scenes.

homie what?
gennedy is trash
Is Dexter better than the Fairly odd parents
Unironically yes

Yes, CN's best golden age show utterly mog Nickelodeon's

It was supposed to be talking about how the show is cool
>Why was the show so cool man
It just was.
Yeah looking back this show genuinely had great sci fi premises and action. I remember being really into the episode where Monkey meets that super smart ape that was a test subject for NASA.
Genndy.
It sure had a sense of edge to it
The Justice Friends was the best thing to come out of it. There should have been a spin off.
Favorite episodes Cinemaphile? Out of the ones I remember, I really liked the ones where Dexter was making his own action figures and also the DnD one.

One of the best jokes in the show
>Nice uniform. You on some kind of sports team?
>I'm The Blue Falcon.

>I'm The Blue Falcon!
>Aww, don't be blue. I'm sure you'll do better next season!
Imagine if the cast of Scooby Doo was there, how the conversation with dad go?
The Speed Racer parody was awesome
Who was Racer D anyway?
I still hear the theme song. GO! DEXTERS FAMILY GO! dododododododododo
huh on looking up the clip it wasn't that robot in question. still thanks for the fun reminder
is that the turbo megazord or a reference to puzzler from the gobots?
So is Dexter and his family like Russian-israeli like the creator Genndy himself?
I like the running up the stairs part

Bro this is a normal response for a type of nerd like mandark in Western media
Loyalty to Dexter?
Kinda or she just straight up doesn't like him
She was even concerned when he challenged her brother at the science fair
>harmless rival.
He tried to kill him more that once
Remember that episode when Dexter and this other whose name sounds similar to him switched to other families, especially one whose parents are geniuses? Could they be Dexter's real parents and got switched at birth?
I would like a TV Puppet Pals spin off
There was that time Lee Lee thought Dexter was cute
Anyone remember Dee Dee's Moon Squad?
This show fricked me up and make me think feminine anime men are awesome
And also that monsters are awesome
Yeah it was pretty awesome
Dexter was popular in Japan. Surprised they didn't make an anime version like they did the Powerpuff Girls. Guess this is kinda close

For how good Jack and Primal were, I still think Dexter is Genndy's best work
this was my favorite episode as a kid, probably lead to my obsession with mecha
same, it kinda made me realise a bunch of guys wearing suits obviously are not going to defeat a giant fricking robot.
Because of a team of creatives making the most out of a concept of a boy genius.
Can literally make anything out of it
the only time i thought it was cool was the dodgeball episode. also the coolness of that robot drifted when it jobbed multiple times in the show.
