For hundreds of years Muslims in India had been calling for their own state/autonomous region. When the British relented control of India, they decided to grant this and the already mostly Muslim region would be Pakistan.
In the mass migration that followed The Muslims, Sikhs and Hindus decided to all use this as a chance to commit mass murder against the other groups. The new governments couldn't cope with it, shitloads of families were murdered. Of course they blamed the British for this, not themselves. It's easier to blame the evil Brits for giving them what they'd wanted than it is to accept that your own friends and relatives tried to murder as many people as they were able to, just because they could.
The idea that India and Pakistan would be a beautiful unified country were it not for the partition is just comical. There would have been a civil war and it likely would have been one of the bloodiest conflicts in history.

The Indians didn't insist on it, the Pakis did. And the British were willing to listen because back then they actually looked somewhat kindly on Islam compared to Hinduism for being a monotheistic, Abrahamic faith. The Indian nationalists wanted a united multi-religious India. Its possible the situation also triggered British memories of Ireland, with the Muslims wanting partition from a majority Hindu state being analogous to Ulster Protestants in their mind. Add to that the fact some Indian nationalists were openly inspired by Irish republicans.
So honestly I've no idea why Paki Muslims would be complaining about partition. They demanded it and they got it.

The explicit stated intent when the character was made for comics was to push back on Islamophobia and create a more diverse and inclusive Marvel universe. Don't you dare accuse Marvel of putting story ahead of ESG ratings ever again

USA is blamed for lot of turmoil in several middle eastern countries due to its involvement since the Regan era to the Biden era. USA may not be fully to blame but it does have to take significant blame for either starting the mess or making it worse

Yeah its gonna be difficult to make Magneto work in the modern era in live action at least. In the comics sliding time scale and mutation has been the answer but I dont know if MCU could pull that off

India struggled for a few decades but was able to find its own way. India is now poised to overtake UK to become the 5th largest economy in the world without UKs help
