The creator was in Half in the Bag and, while he isn't as dysgenic as the morons in the documentary, he still buys into the whole "we deserve the movie the way we want it!" and "lucas doesn't understand his own movies anymore!" bullshit.
How did one irrelevant youtube channel make zoomers seethe so much?
Because RLM are gay and have bad opinions on everything
I loved Cecil and to a lesser extent the JACK show, but Goddamn the state of comics got so depressing I had to nope out of that whole scene. I've just been reading old comics, euro comics and manga for the past three years and it's been great.
If you actually bothered to watch it, it wasn't even that critical of Lucas. It delved into why a lot of fans hate him but it also allows him some room for sympathy. He actually comes off as a tragic figure.
The creator was in Half in the Bag and, while he isn't as dysgenic as the morons in the documentary, he still buys into the whole "we deserve the movie the way we want it!" and "lucas doesn't understand his own movies anymore!" bullshit.
Except that isn’t true. As, get this, if prequelgays didn’t constantly make threads trying to pretend the prequels were anything other than garbage, no one would talk about them.
>he still buys into the whole "we deserve the movie the way we want it!" and "lucas doesn't understand his own movies anymore!" bullshit.
but this is 100% right?
Autists don't deserve anything, seriously they're never satisfied and it's not healthy for them either unless you think those hardcore star wars/star trek/etc are well adjusted people.

I don't really care, it just would be nice to have an official version of the original trilogy without all his shitty edits instead of relying on internet autists to provide edits.
Fans are clingy, complaining dipshits who will never, ever be grateful for any concession you make. The moment you shut out their shrill, tremulous voices, the happier you'll be for it.
>we deserve the movie the way we want it!
Only the creator gets to decide how the movie gets to be viewed >lucas doesn't understand his own movies anymore!
How?
>Only the creator gets to decide how the movie gets to be viewed
Not really, making a movie isn't a collaborative project.
I would agree somewhat if you meant at the time but going back 20 years later to edit the movies to fit your own image is ridiculous and pretty disrespectful to everyone else who worked on the movies too. Star Wars is not just Lucas. >lucas doesn't understand his own movies anymore!
The prequels are totally different to the OT, he didn't strike the right notes at all.
But why do we need a whole documentary of fans whining about Jar Jar Binks?

Threepio's comic relief is mild, restrained, and quiet. I never found Threepio funny but he was inoffensive. Jar Jar is brash, loud, infantile - a full assault on the senses that does not cease. He's also placed front and centre for much of the film because George wanted to show off the tech. Jar Jar gets his own plotline in TPM which introduces us to his people and shows him becoming their hero. Threepio has nothing like this in ANH.

This is your brain on nostalgia. There are entire scenes of him just yabbering on and on and on.
>NOOOO GEORGE ADDED A CGI ANIMAL IN THE BACKGROUND THAT CHANGES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO THE STORY I'M LITERALLY GOING INSANE AHHHGGHGHG!!!!
You 100% only care about this bullshit because YouTubers tell you too. You can very easily watch the OG cut online.
Just get over it already for fricks sake.
iirc star wars 1977 still hasn't been inducted into the library of congress because lucas refuses to provide them a copy of the original film, he wanted them to take the special edition.
That's honestly based for sticking to what he considers his creative vision, but also annoying since the theatrical cut is what became a cultural phenomenon. I like both for what they are. I wish I could watch the theatrical cut in HD without pirating it.
It was embarrassing. If you didn't like the prequels then you didn't like what Star Wars was about in the first place. You were just there for the toys.
Respect to Hamill for telling these guys to go frick themselves when they wanted to interview him for the movie.
Ironic because the prequels mare made as soon as Lucas was able to renegotiate the deal with toy manufacturer. That's what Star Wars is all about. The rest is just fans fooling themselves that the series has any integrity.
If Lucas wanted to sell toys he would have made the Darth Vader killing Jedis movies everyone wanted him to make and watched the emotionally stunted fatties line up to have their superficial aspirations of children's fairy tales being 'cool' and 'badass' vindicated so they can be at peace with themselves for buying plastic action figures. Instead he told the story which he actually wanted to tell and was honest with licensees he partnered with that the prequels were not the commercial golden tickets the OT was.
Is this autism? Does he not understand he could make it so that Anakin was not a Jedi when he's Luke's age, and started training at 19 like Luke?
>I wanted to see him as an angelic little kid
yeah, that's the problem. the prequels are about how good guy anakin turns into evil darth vader, but george made no effort to ever show good guy anakin. you don't get any points for being decent when you're 9 years old.
Is that why he had Blue Boba Fett, then? To not sell toys? Did Yoda not "whip out that little laser sword of his and go to town" in an epic duel with Sidious for something other than "badass" pandering? Was Darth Maul supposed to be something other than a walking action sequence tied to familiar imagery?
I don't doubt the sincerity of Lucas's "poetry" (though we should insert the Wilde quote here) but the prequels were extremely commercial regardless.

Well that's the thing. Lucas loves all those cool tropes from westerns, serials and whatnot. But then you have adult fans determined to assert themselves as adults, ironically because they're still children. And they revolt when confronted with stuff kids like. Lucas never forgot that Star Wars' main audience is kids, despite what his less intelligent fans wanted.

None of those political scenes are longer than five minutes.
I remember from that half in the bag one clip of the people vs george lucas they show, in the clip is this disgusting, fat, neck-bearded genetic failure with his fists clenched mouthing off about star wars saying 'IT'S NOT JUST A FILM, IT'S NOT JUST A FILM'
That is star wars fans, every time i hear about star wars that pops in my mind
The documentary made me sympathise with Lucas way more than the director arguably intended. Any sensible person would look at the fat bearded Redditors screaming about Lucas raping their childhoods and feel second-hand embarrassment, I can see why he sold the franchise.
One day you gays will admit that the overblown prequel hatred was just a relic of the times. A generation of manchildren couldn’t handle that their kids movies weren’t as good as they wanted and they used the novel internet to voice their frustrations. Star Wars is now a soulless IP milked into relentless mediocrity, and the prequels were the last bit of soul left
And one day you will grow out of your nostalgia goggles and recognise how bad the prequels are, and that "b-but nuwars are shit!" doesn't excuse the prequels.
I have never once missed any subject of an image captioned “Miss Me Yet?”
Episodes 2 and 3 (and 9) are the worst films in the Star Wars franchise and their sole redeeming quality is quotes that can be turned into memes from how cheesy they are, like any other famously bad film such as The Room.
Episodes 7and 8 are mid but at least Rey and Kylo have chemistry and the plot is coherent.
Episode 3 is the best for Ian McDiarmid's performance alone. Anyone praising the Disney fanfiction can automatically be dismissed as a moron with zero taste.
Something I’ve noticed is common with prequelgays is constantly bringing up the sequels in defense of the prequels.
They both sucked, this is the opinion of most people, trying to compare which trilogy sucked more is meaningless because they are both bad enough to not be worth any more time spent on them.
>this is the opinion of most people
xoomer manchildren who hated TPM because they thought midichlorians meant they couldn't have the Force irl are not "most people"
I participate in prequel posting but to be perfectly honest these movies aren't even any good. Maybe that's just normal for Star Wars. Two first movies were the exceptions, the rest is maybe mediocre at best and the series survives because it's so fun.
The sequels make the prequels look good in comparison.
There's nothing memorable about the new shit, TPM/AOTC were steps down from the original trilogy but they never left a bad taste in my mouth like 7/8/9 did.
Prequels don't need anything to make them "look good"
They ARE good
Literally 100% of the seething criticism directed at them is predicated on "why isn't this more like OT"
This documentary starts off kinda interesting but completely falls off once it just becomes random neckbeards complaining about dumb shit.
Like if you agree with the points it’s worthless because you either paid money or wasted an hour and a half watching Redditors make the same talking points as a free YouTube video except more embarrassing.
If you don’t agree with it or you’re a normal non autistic person you’re just confused on why a bunch of fat morons are singing about Lucas raping their childhood. Either way it absolutely fails to be interesting and honestly makes me sympathetic to Lucas more than he deserves.
This. The parts where they talk about Lucas's experience with the studio system and how he always wanted final cut are great, if the movie had explored that aspect it would've been genuinely interesting. Instead it's just neckbeards screaming about Jar Jar Binks for 90 minutes.
Because watching a bunch of man babies scream about a man raping their childhood because he made some bad movies is a level of cringe so powerful it circles back around to comedy.
The post-Prequels pre-Disney era was a lot of fun in hindsight. I like to think George knew what he was doing when he sold and had a good laugh about it.
Guilty as fricking sin. Anyone over the age of 5 who likes starwars especially the prequels is a fricking tasteless moron lmao. cant believe people pretend it can be any other way.
>I wonder whats going on with Jar Jar these days...
You mean how George Lucas is a hack, and was a good idea guy, but couldn't write or direct for shit, and that the sudden prequel love is contrarianism/zoomers being nostalgic for what they loved as small children?
Even if he was some great ideas guy that got in well over his head… the amount of pure spite and hatred from whiny man babies is a bit much. Like spending the better part of two decades ripping this nice hobbit man apart and spending thousands of dollars on a documentary to show the world that hatred and animosity off is weird man.
Like the Phantom Menace was almost 11 years old when this came out and you’re still b***hing about a character that was barely in the other movies. Go touch grass
He seems pretty chill for Hollywood directors. Dude ain’t Tarantino levels because he’s show up to that documentary to challenge the director to a fight.
Has there ever been a franchise like this where the sole creator was constantly "corrected" on what his show "should be doing" by fans who came in after the fact?
We never deserved George. Dude was perfectly fine with people making fun of him and his own show. He was able to laugh at himself unlike how star wars is now
Prequel hate is quite literally a hallmark of xoomer culture. It was their version of rebelling against "the man" like boomers had the hippie movement and millennials had occupy wall street.
>shovels junk food into their gullet
mmffg gmgg *burp* this is CLEARLY the superior cut *sharts* ugh just like when I was an 8 year old back at home with mom and dad >*knock knock knock* >honey... Are you getting a job soon? Your father is deathly ill
ughh NOT NOW MOM I'M WATCHING ORIGINAL CUT KINO OF STAR WARS BEFORE GEORGE LUCAS AND HIS PREQUELKEK ARMY RUINED IT, GOD! >o-okay honey...
No gen x have absolutely zero self awareness and don't realise how consoomerish they are compared to other generations. If you ever find yourself at a bar with a Gen X man, take a shot every time they bring up their childhood
Their response was to correct perceptions that Hollywood was completely abandoning originality in favor of nostalgia baiting. The idea of other studios calling slight changes to old movies new movies warranted immediate response.
About Lucas losing his touch and if it's right for the creator to damage his own work. To be honest as bad as the prequels are it's the special editions and other re-releases that are his biggest, inexcusable mistake. But it helped me realize that it's not worth being a Star Wars fan.
I assumed being a toku fan is much better especially if it's not just one continuity. The longer something is kept in just one timeline the more inevitable it gets that someone will ruin it.
What's even more embarrassing is seething about the Star Wars prequels every day of your life for the past 20 years. The same xoomers who made a cottage industry out of hating the prequels are also the same homosexuals who complain when anything new from the Transformers brand isn't like G1. It's an entire generation of whiny entitled manchildren. You don't see boomers endlessly seething about how every new Batman movie isn't like the Adam West series, and you don't see Millennials constantly whining that all the new Pokémon are worse than the originals. The fanboy nerd manchild phenomenon started with Gen X.
I don't. I don't care at all. I just have met these prequel defenders before and had them in my friend group and they are most dweeby little virgins you'll ever run into. I wouldn't be so harsh if they were at least friendly, but they're the types who claim their opinion is "objective" and compare the prequels to The Triumph of the Will and shit like anyone wants to hear it. They're only a peg above Snyderjeets imo.
Yeah morons today tend to parrot youtube opinions just like morons back in the 00's when the prequels premiered parroted late night talk show opinions. It's fine to not like the prequels, but it's not like they're that much better or worse than the OT. People who act like the OT are masterpieces that were somehow ruined by the prequels are homosexuals who probably aren't capable of actually watching anything with a critical eye.
Alright, fair enough. I guess I just had a bad experience with a few prequel defenders in the past. I really liked Revenge of the Sith when it came out. I do think the OT are pretty much blockbuster masterpieces, though. I miss the warm, familial tone the OT had compared to the prequels. I know they're telling a different story, but I still would've preferred to see a few lighthearted adventures with Obi-Wan and Anakin before things really got serious. I guess there was some of that in Attack of the Clones, but it still felt more about the spectacle than the moment to moment relationships between characters.
I have a similar feeling to the gays who like the clone wars. Insufferable and the clone wars isn't even a good cartoon. It's far worse then anything in live action wars. Good thing I never met them irl.
no
autists dont feel embarrassment
R.I.P men 100,000 B.C.E. -- 2009 C.E.

Ah, the proto onions movement.
These guys liked Barenaked Ladies just a little too much.
Not as embarrassing as liking the prequels
Could be worse. You could be defending the sequels because you want attention.
Reminder all nu wars is homosexual shit
All Star Wars, old and new, is shit.
Could be worse. You actually like the clone wars or rebels or any of the other low budget star wars cartoons.

Shut the frick up. The sequels are way better then the prequels. Prequels simply look bad too. And I hate all of Disney Wars.

Because watching a bunch of man babies scream about a man raping their childhood because he made some bad movies is a level of cringe so powerful it circles back around to comedy.
why are you embarrassed at finding that funny? you should work on your self esteem
The prequels are bad and always will be
The post-Prequels pre-Disney era was a lot of fun in hindsight. I like to think George knew what he was doing when he sold and had a good laugh about it.
This marked the point where I couldn't shit on Lucas anymore:
Dude was straight up trolling.
Was he guilty?
Guilty of creating kino
Guilty of being too high IQ for the common neckbeard
Yes. George Lucas stole the character of Agent King(s)ton from Decker for his movie Star Wars Episode 8.
Go touch grass
>nice hobbit man
lucas is hardly a "nice hobbit man".
He's as egotistical and arrogant as they come.
He seems pretty chill for Hollywood directors. Dude ain’t Tarantino levels because he’s show up to that documentary to challenge the director to a fight.
>$200,000
>200k to watch something with the production value of a mid tier YouTube video.
Man probably spent 5k of that and pocketed the rest.
Has there ever been a franchise like this where the sole creator was constantly "corrected" on what his show "should be doing" by fans who came in after the fact?
We never deserved George. Dude was perfectly fine with people making fun of him and his own show. He was able to laugh at himself unlike how star wars is now
>when even mark hamill says it’s shit you know it’s bad
Prequel hate is quite literally a hallmark of xoomer culture. It was their version of rebelling against "the man" like boomers had the hippie movement and millennials had occupy wall street.
>shovels junk food into their gullet
mmffg gmgg *burp* this is CLEARLY the superior cut *sharts* ugh just like when I was an 8 year old back at home with mom and dad
>*knock knock knock*
>honey... Are you getting a job soon? Your father is deathly ill
ughh NOT NOW MOM I'M WATCHING ORIGINAL CUT KINO OF STAR WARS BEFORE GEORGE LUCAS AND HIS PREQUELKEK ARMY RUINED IT, GOD!
>o-okay honey...
Literally me
Truth be told the entire Fandom Menace is also cringe as frick
>must defend a hack filmmaker who made shitty cartoons I should've outgrown by now
Oh yeah. Very embarassing.
>Must defend precious childhood memories of shitty movies made by that very same hack filmmaker
Sit.
Do people nowadays notice how fricking embarassing liking star wars, at all, really is?
What could this have possibly been about?
About Lucas losing his touch and if it's right for the creator to damage his own work. To be honest as bad as the prequels are it's the special editions and other re-releases that are his biggest, inexcusable mistake. But it helped me realize that it's not worth being a Star Wars fan.
this right here is the whole truth
I assumed being a toku fan is much better especially if it's not just one continuity. The longer something is kept in just one timeline the more inevitable it gets that someone will ruin it.
George Lucas is a gay
Prequelzoomers are gays
OTboomers are gays
Sequeltrannies are gays
EUneckbeards are gays
Star Wars itself is a gay
You have to remember that when morons don't have real jobs, they will lie & perpetrate fraud on marks.
Nobody noticed the "movie" because less than a slow tuesday WWE show watched it, anon.
Almost as embarrassing as spending every waking hour on Cinemaphile defending George Lucas and his terrible Star Wars prequels. Grow up, homosexual.
I guess there was some of that in Attack of the Clones, but it still felt more about the spectacle than the moment to moment relationships between characters.
>but it's not like they're that much better or worse than the OT.
They are significantly worse than the OT, though.
I have a similar feeling to the gays who like the clone wars. Insufferable and the clone wars isn't even a good cartoon. It's far worse then anything in live action wars. Good thing I never met them irl.
and why we don't have disney hating kino but this garb***h instead?
makes you think
