Personally having just rewatched the prequels I enjoyed them, not for nostalgia but for the alarming realization that everything produced has been getting so dumbed down and bloated over the past 15 years that the shitty quality of the prequels is unnoticeable and they seem fine.

People who watch the films want to see Luke being awesome. That's why TLJ was SO devastating. It wasn't just a shitty film that crapped all over the lore and wrote the story into a corner. It decimated Luke as a character and killed him off. Hence, interest in the franchise immediately fell off a cliff.
Star Wars should be about more than the Skywalkers. But you need to earn that. And they didn't.
The only way to save the franchise is to retcon TLJ, bring Hamill/Luke back, and give him a proper heroic ending while passing the torch in a graceful way. And then you can move the story beyond that saga.
(This is also why that scene from The Mandalorian had such a visceral reaction btw. No other star wars character cameoing for 5 minutes would ever get anything near that attention. And that's also why they refuse to give him any more cameos because he detracts and distracts from their mary-sue morons)

And they were right, at the start, people fricking LOVED TFA when it first came out. But then there was multiple falling outs behind the scenes with directors and writers, then TLJ happened, then ROS happened, and they've been in panic mode ever since trying anything they can to course correct.
And everything they've tried short of a few episodes of Mando has crashed and burned horribly. By the time the 'good' stuff actually came out (Andor), the IP is so damaged that no one gives a shit.

Andor and Mando s.1+2 was good, 3 was all over the place. It wasn’t even about the established main character.
This new show, the acolyte was meh for the first two episodes, then this third one really fricked up. They spent an entire episode, randomly in the past, showing the backstory that we had already covered in episode one and two through character dialogue. We knew May hated the jedi, and blamed them for everything. We now saw that. We knew Osha wanted to become a jedi, and was picked up by the four named characters. Now we saw that. The only real “new” thing, is that they were born into a night sister coven, but sadly, even that doesn’t fricking matter. They killed off all the characters in the village, and both sisters aren’t using the magic, or even identify with it. It could have been any village, and the result would be the same. They banked episode three on kid actors, and the audience being blown away by slowly seeing the story we already knew happened, unfold. Someone in charge is a fricking moron. Glad I don’t pay for this shit.

Rogue One is a rough clumsy first draft of Andor, it's not that good. It benefits from being sandwiched between the soulless TFA and the awful TLJ, so in that context Rogue One looks good. But it's not a normal context.
These are the actual good things to come out of NuWars + two BB episodes.
Andor is Star Wars-lite. It has one space battle and maybe one blaster battle. The rest is just talk. The show got somewhat good after 6 episodes. The two best characters were Stellan and Gollum and they had the best dialogue scenes.

I had hope for the franchise before TFA, after seeing TFA I lost any hope I had left, I thought Rogue One might be able to turn it around, but it was disappointing (albeit the best effort so far from Disney Star Wars). Watched every single animated series, as well as followed Ster Wars The Old Republic storylines from a thousand years pre canon. Darth Revan, Malgus, even played all the games etc, id like to think I have good Star Wars experience under the belt.
This season episode 3 was fire, and it leaves alot of intriguing questions too that lead off of episode 2, which I thought ep 1-2 were weaker. This episode really showed a good vibe into portraying what's to come. Are these witches descendants of another version of Dathomir? Or are they similar to the white witches from one of the episodes of Tales of The Empire that showed Morgan elsbeths friend was apart of?
It's all very interesting to see how the Jedi stayed in power from the old republic to now and what has changed that eventually led up to the 2nd downfall of the Jedi
The pacing for this episode some said slow, but i found it done just right for story telling

The original and Empire had incredible artistry. The costumes. Darth Vader. Stormtroopers. Backdrops. Death Star. Tie Fighters. X Wings. Start destroyers. C3PO. Guns shooting lasers. Space battles. Light sabers. The whole thing is incredible. An absolute triumph of imagination and art. Compare it with the costumes, backdrops, and set-pieces of other sci-fi movies at the time. And then to top it off, Beethoven level score by John Williams.
The story, writing and acting was pretty weak. But it didn't matter. It became a classic anyway due to the strength of the former.

People who watch the films want to see Luke being awesome. That's why TLJ was SO devastating. It wasn't just a shitty film that crapped all over the lore and wrote the story into a corner. It decimated Luke as a character and killed him off. Hence, interest in the franchise immediately fell off a cliff.
Star Wars should be about more than the Skywalkers. But you need to earn that. And they didn't.
The only way to save the franchise is to retcon TLJ, bring Hamill/Luke back, and give him a proper heroic ending while passing the torch in a graceful way. And then you can move the story beyond that saga.
(This is also why that scene from The Mandalorian had such a visceral reaction btw. No other star wars character cameoing for 5 minutes would ever get anything near that attention. They spent an entire episode, randomly in the past, showing the backstory that we had already covered in episode one and two through character dialogue. We knew May hated the jedi, and blamed them for everything. We now saw that. We knew Osha wanted to become a jedi, and was picked up by the four named characters. Now we saw that. The only real “new” thing, is that they were born into a night sister coven, but sadly, even that doesn’t fricking matter. They killed off all the characters in the village, and both sisters aren’t using the magic, or even identify with it. It could have been any village, and the result would be the same. They banked episode three on kid actors, and the audience being blown away by slowly seeing the story we already knew happened, unfold. Someone in charge is a fricking moron. Glad I don’t pay for this shit.

I had hope for the franchise before TFA, after seeing TFA I lost any hope I had left, I thought Rogue One might be able to turn it around, but it was disappointing (albeit the best effort so far from Disney Star Wars). Everything that has come out since has been dogshit, (I haven't watched, I don't need to to know its shit). Star Wars is absolutely dead to me so I couldn't care less. Even if Disney sold it and the next group retconned it I still wouldn't care.

Watched every single animated series, as well as followed Ster Wars The Old Republic storylines from a thousand years pre canon. Darth Revan, Malgus, even played all the games etc, id like to think I have good Star Wars experience under the belt.
This season episode 3 was fire, and it leaves alot of intriguing questions too that lead off of episode 2, which I thought ep 1-2 were weaker. This episode really showed a good vibe into portraying what's to come. Are these witches descendants of another version of Dathomir? Or are they similar to the white witches from one of the episodes of Tales of The Empire that showed Morgan elsbeths friend was apart of?
It's all very interesting to see how the Jedi stayed in power from the old republic to now and what has changed that eventually led up to the 2nd downfall of the Jedi
The pacing for this episode some said slow, but i found it done just right for story telling

The original and Empire had incredible artistry. The costumes. Darth Vader. Stormtroopers. Backdrops. Death Star. Tie Fighters. X Wings. Start destroyers. C3PO. Guns shooting lasers. Space battles. Light sabers. The whole thing is incredible. An absolute triumph of imagination and art. Compare it with the costumes, backdrops, and set-pieces of other sci-fi movies at the time. And then to top it off, Beethoven level score by John Williams.
The story, writing and acting was pretty weak. But it didn't matter. It became a classic anyway due to the strength of the former.
