Fake it until you make it taken to an extreme.

      >wants to make it
      >don't have a product yet
      >hype it up anyways and hopes the product will materialize
      >it doesn't
      >keep hyping it up and start selling it
      >it all collapses

At a certain point it became WAY too late to admit that you don't have anything to show for it so you can't back down. The Intellivision Amico debackle had a similar issue with Tommy Tallarico. Tommy didn't have a product but kept hyping it up and taking investments, and they never ended up shipping ANYTHING.

You can "fake it until you make it" with confidence, not concrete products.

        >Pretend to be a talented wirter, and act like you are, and just start submitting short stories and eventually it works. You become famous and people take you seriously.

The idea is that you can't wait around for the "perfect" moment when your skills click and you become "talented", and you won't know if that ever happens and people typically under-estimate themselves anyways. but you can't do that with concrete products and claims that don't exist. That's where you move into fraud territory.

She and people liek her have adopted that high image mindset where image matters the most, and details second, that they get so used to "faking it", that they cross that line into fraud.

I kind of agree with you, but look at the WeWork dude. How the frick he got away with billions? What did he have to show? I know you are going to say he didn't have a concrete product, but there's such things like surfing some hype while you don't have shit from shinola, otherwise Musk/Tesla would be dead weight by now.

someone should have told her not to frick over rich people because they will get your ass. there are so many different industries and financial methods of fricking over only poor people, and no one will ever bat an eye.

Cuz they have the lawyers that came come after you. If you run scams that rip off poor people, you get hit with white collar crime state charges, which amounts to slaps on the wrists. You can steal 100 million dollars through tax schemes and only get a few years and a few million in fines. If you stash away your money in Panama banks, and launder it to yourself after you get out, you can make white collar crime quite profitable.

      >11 years state charges
      >can get out on propation after serving only a fractoin of it

Basically crime does pay. If she walked into a gas station with a gun and robbed it, she'd get like 25 years plus. Defaud millions? slap on the wrist. Petty violent crime? hard time. Shit's fricked.

She literally DID "get away with it", albeit for a limited amount of time. Primarily because "Omg, is that a le WOMAN that is a le independent entrepreneur?!?!".

It staggers me that this farce wasn't a massive wake-up call in the Corporate/Financial Sector about "Feminism" and other IdMisc shit.

I mean, she was definitely playing into that image, although if anything all her heroes were men and she wanted to sound and act more masculine. Which is why she adopted the cartoonishly deep voice in public.

It has nothing to do with feminism. There are a ton of men who also over promise and under-deliver, hoovering up venture capital money all the while. Her mistake was making concrete claims about a technology she supposedly had instead of making ludicrous claims about what they hope to do in the future.

The NFT people were talking about their ape jpegs being generational wealth, and a select number of bankers believed them and gave them loans about it.

        Anonymous

Her mistake was continuing to lie about and fake test results. If she had said "the technology isn't there yet, here are the challenges we still face" she would have been fine.
But she was Jobs-levels narcissistic and couldn't admit to not being a miracle worker.
The irony is that a few years after Theranos went under, people have created similar technologies to what was promised by Holmes, albeit of a slightly smaller scope.

        >It has nothing to do with feminism.
It absolutely did. Nobody WITHOUT a proof of concept, AND without a vegana, would have been handed so many favors or treated with so much confidence & trust.
They wanted a promote a female and sell her image as a "financial/scientific genius...who is also a woman!...".

There is literal documentation showing that major corporations and investment firms prioritize this and are instructed to pursue it, on top of it being openly admitted & advertised, and it has been at play long enough for it to permeate the corporate culture and become dominant. It's not a "Conspiracy Theory" any more.

Call a spade a fricking spade.

What was up with her weird troony voice? Also why the frick would you date your ugly old man paki executive? She is such a fricking lolcow but the reason she was successful is because she was a moderately attractive rich white woman but otherwise she’s obviously an autistic moron.

      >What was up with her weird troony voice?

Scientifically proven that people take men and women with deeper voices more seriously. Look at any female comedian, politician, commentator, and the ones people take seriously have deeper voices. We're likely wired for this.

      >What was up with her weird troony voice?
She was putting it on. She drops it accidentally a couple of times before correcting herself. It's part of the persona she built; deeper voices on women are deemed as more reliable and trustworthy.

I dunno about that. She sounded creepy as frick and I’d not lend her 50 bucks let alone millions if I heard her speak like that. She does sound like when some girls make fun of their dads and imitate them. That’s cute for like thirty seconds but not for years.

Well ... Steve Jobs got away withit. Elon Musk might get away with it. Even Donald Trump might get away with it.
Sure, some grifters fail, and if they do, they fail spectacularly. But many, if not a majority, do get away with it.

What specifically did any of those three people "grift" with? Do you even know what the term means? Or are you a typical leftist moron who thinks that "grifter" means "anyone who triggers me AND has money"?

        >What specifically did any of those three people "grift" with?
Steve Jobs sold cheap hardware with a brand logo on it for way too much money.
Elon Musk is scamming investors with his Tesla bullshit, all of whose cars don't live up anywhere close to the promises, are overpriced and late on schedule. Also the "hyperloop" project which turned out to be a massive scam. And the jury is still out on "SpaceX" and its exploding rockets.
And Trump University. Lots of Trump casinos unironically went bankrupt (don't ask me how that can even happen, casinos never lose money lorg-term). Also lots of different other businesses being declared bankrupt. Plus misappropriation of election funds to pay lawyers, apparently.

You do realize that all of Musk's "scams" are things he paid for with his own money?
And Tesla made 13 billion dollars of profit last year?

            >Musk's "scams" are things he paid for with his own money?
            Kek. Imagine actually believing that.
            >And Tesla made 13 billion dollars of profit last year?
Look up how much "profit" this Holmes chick made before it all collapsed on itself.
The whole point of a scam is that you make profit. And the whole point of "getting away with it" is that it doesn't catch up to you and you keep that profit.
