Gave him plenty of chances, but he simply has never done a truly good movie. He almost got there with Pain & Gain where he basically played himsef, but everything since then has been a dud. Bautista's not a terrific actor but he's a hell of a lot better than Rock.
Bautista isn’t Daniel Day Lewis but I’ve never seen him turn in a bad performance. The dude is a solid journeyman for sure, in the sense that he actually is an actor. The Rock is a celebrity personality, not an actor. That would be the difference to me.
