The story is fricking trite, the acting is absurdly awful, the background score is amateur, the cinematography is alright and the direction is awful. Every now and then you get films like this, praised to death by critics and supposedly by audiences but it leaves no cultural impact. No one quotes it, no one knows any character's names, it's not parodied in other shows or films. Kind of like Avatar.

There are some jokes that are so overdone it throws off the entire flow of the movie, and it tries too hard to be memetic for its own good. There are some good thoughts and some good execution here and there, but for the most part it's almost a chore to get through, and I couldn't imagine watching it a second time. 7/10.

I mean this in the most genuine way possible, as I've pondered what exactly rubbed me the wrong way about it:

The only truly good scene for me was the one parodying 2001, the implication of the extinction of normal-handed people in a single event and without a single word spoken and all those hotdogs dangling made me have a hearty kek and I found it kinda brilliant.
As for the rest, it's the 'deep' and 'artsy' film for people who haven't seen or appreciated films that truly exhibit those qualities.
