I'll say this until I'm blue in the face. What compels you people to make these kinds of threads? You know these are meant for a discussion, right? Not for you to ask a stupid question that you probably asked google and went on reddit to find out. I wish the IMDb board was still up so it could relieve the overwhelming amount of moronation from this place.

She hated him because deep down she knew he was big Ballin for real and she couldn't handle it. With her weak broke ass. This b***h was steamed la cucaracha style. In the directors cut, he throws a few stacks on the table and says frick you ma, you frickin maricon, you ain't ever gonna be down with the hood. Fat Joe shows up and picks him up in the Acura, wearing a fly ass mink. It's hard to find these days. Frick Tony's mom

There's extra scenes showing that Tony tried to call her over the years but never was able to get a hold of them, but she still said he was shit for not contacting her. He still had a photo of Gina when she was a preteen and had very short hair looking like a boy, which shows it's been a while hearing from them either. The mom didn't take into account what Tony had to do to get by nor the environment he grew up in. She just blamed him. Then when he finally made it to the US, she didn't do anything to attempt to steer him away from the crime lifestyle and towards something more legitimate. Just yell and scream at him. She was a b***h.

It's canon. It's only not in the movie due to pacing and time limits since the movie was already three hours. It shows things directly referenced later in the movie such as Gina looking like a boy last time he saw her.

Because he was trapped in Cuba with nothing, no one and no prospects. Obviously a complete change of environment and people surrounding him is a chance to start over anew and discard the criminal lifestyle. Tony simply needed something he enjoyed more than washing dishes for pennies.

He wanted to have a say in her spouse choice as a patriarch of the family and not have her become the fricktoy of deadbeat criminals (even if they're his own friends). Even if they had honourable intentions and married her, this precarious lifestyle would make it hard for the marriage to be a happy one; chances are she'd be a widow

Even if Tony approved of Manny, his actions and kept confiding with him instead of retreating into himself, Manny would still be killed during the villa raid or at some other point by Sosa

Jesus frick, you adhd morons can't pay attention to anything. They only show a dozen times that Manny is a womanizer going from girl to girl and when he sets his eyes on Gina Tony literally tells him she's not for him to abuse like his normal hoes. Tony is literally shown to be furious at her for being with random lowlife gangsters who just want to pump and dump her in the men's room. Tony literally says she's the only thing pure and decent in his life. But no, your idiot self is right, he definitely doesn't want to protect her from predator men and wants to frick her himself.

There was a lot of dumb parts in this movie. It gets lumped in with better movies like The Godfather, Goodfellas, and Casino just because of Pacino and the subject matter, but it's really only just middle of the road.

You're an idiot and an autist if you can't tell by yourself and need some stupid website's opinion to mislead you. They directly show repeatedly that Gina is very vulnerable to sinking into that lifestyle, that there's lots of men eager to prey on and destroy her, and that Tony wants most of all to keep her from going down that route and getting hurt.

Even Gina got it when she comes up to him after Manny gets killed and is wearing the see through robe and flat asks Tony if he wants to frick her. There's no ambiguity; Tony wanted to possess her in every way he could, including sexually.

I finally watched it and I don't know what to think about the ending. It's just so weird, even the editing is weird.
One scene has Tony mourning Gina with sad Moroder's theme playing, then there's cut to Sosa's assassins with American Ninja music, then another cut to Gina and Tony, and so on.
I was actually pretty close to tearing up, but then the whole thing turned into a farce with Tony using a fricking grenade launcher.
