This one was one of those shorts you knew, from the first time you saw them, that they were going nowhere.

    Most were like that.

Yeah, especially the one with those two fricking animals that went to a fricking sewer theme park

        >two fricking animals that went to a fricking sewer theme park
        Oh, this one!

I forgot about this one. Because it's vert forgettable.
Most of these shorts really sucked, and you knew they weren't going anywhere. Like, even some that were kinda fun clearly wouldn't have worked for more than one short.

The guy sitting on the bus is supposed to be Genndy Tartarkovsky, and he's reading a John K magazine.

Yeah, you know if the opening pilot contains your characters riding a log of shit, you may wanna rethink what you want out of your cartoon series.

What A Cartoon! pilots were so desperate to be Ren & Stimpy on a Hanna-Barbera budget. It's no wonder stuff like Powerpuff Girls and Courage stuck out.

Literally no one said that. These are bad because they're bad, not because they're cartoons.

Half of them? That's way too generous.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand the Pat Ventura ones. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of golden age animation, most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head

This feels like weird proto-cow and chicken humour
I vaguely remember watching this as a kid the scene where Godfrey is gnawing on the trophy at the end wrinkled an old memory

I'm surprised they got away with the shit log flume though

I think the only big loss here was Meinert Hansen's space guy, those characters were good enough to carry a show and they weren't limited to any location. Pfish and Chips was pretty good, it even had two shorts, but I don't know how you could make a full series of bomb disposal guy cartoons. Even the two shorts they made were very similar. All the most forgettable ones were just worse Ren and Stimpy clones.

Oh and Larry and Steve is great but that became Family Guy.
