Cyborg enhanced ultra intelligent raptor soldiers. That's what early treatments looked like before they went back to the park, keeping a scant remnant of the idea with the camouflage monster and raptor training.

Duh. How do you raise the stakes after dinosaurs? Magic Dinosaurs?

In the first film, the hurricane results in most people evacuating and leaving only a skeleton crew behind. That skeleton crew then has to deal with the dinos, which makes a threat. Once you have a crew that's preparred it ceases to make any sense, since any weapon that would take down an Elephant would also take down a dinosaur.

So you have people in Lost World fleeing the T-Rex firing their assault rifles wildly, yet the T-Rex is not phased. This bugged me when I saw it in theaters.

Yes, that was a long plan starting for JPIII. Then they jsut uncreatively went back to the island for some reason. If anyone had actually gone through that they'd be traumatized and just would never set foot there again. Then the original film crew comes back for the latest film too.

A female elephant in heat laced with venom in her pussy. That would take down an elephant but not a dinosaur.

Dinosaurs get super smart. They start integrating into civilized society with humans. Tensions between humans and dinos start building. Dino ghettos are born. Some people start wanting to frick the dinosaurs. Dino-fricking becomes a hot topic debate.

        >You don't have to one-up everything.
It's human nature to desire better things. It's why movies and shows don't just endlessly release reruns of things they produced before. They make sequels with ever-increasing budget. It's a one-up industry because entertainment only works if it keeps up the pace with human attention spans.

You can tell compelling stories without leaving the park or setting up a series of events that ends with dinosaurs destroying the park. They had one chance to reboot and do just that, but no they blew their entire load with Jurassic World and painted themselves in the same corner the original did. The Westworld show made the same mistake. Why dont they learn?

Jurassic World was conceptually a solid idea for a reboot - a fully functional park that was created out of greed and not paying attention to the lessons of the past. However it sucked due to fake dinosaurs (though kind of makes sense in the stupidity and greediness of the Indian Hammond) and weak characters. After this movie the franchise was basically dead. Seeing the park working for a minute was interesting but the nuggets of fun were massively outweighed by the creators shirking the actual lessons of the previous Jurassic Park movies (beautiful and believable practical effects and strong characters that can drive even a weaker film)

    >villain of the week series with a backburner story and a good cast of characters that gets 3 good seasons of ~20 episodes each, a rushed season 4 with ~10 episodes after which it's cancelled in a cliffhanger, and after popular demand a tv movie that fails to give a satisfying finale
Could the Jurassic Park setting work in this format?

it's a franchiasable but they need to shake things up

they need to give the dinos feathers, that will revitalize the franchise

Okay, I'm sick and tired of news bait titles. The director doesn't insinuate more films shouldn't be made, he says the 'Park' series should end.
    >why make another film about going to an island?
    >And Dichen Lachman’s character [Basedona Santos], who just gets arrested at the end. There’s more to come.”
There are more 'world' or whatever films to come along. He wants them to be about coexisting with dinosaurs, not that there won't be more made

    >movie based on existing material should have ended with the existing material

The new series was atrocious, it was like a low budget action film was given a huge CGI budget out of nowhere and they thought that every scene had to outdo the last so the entire movie is this upward trend of wowsocool and none of it is enjoyable to watch.

Duh, no shit. The first one works because of the awe and wonder of its premise, "Holy shit, they bought dinosaurs back to life."

The problem is you can't do that twice. We've already seen Jurassic Park, so you can't sell anyone on how unique it is to see those dinosaurs on screen anymore.

The biggest problem with Jurassic Park is that dinosaurs are just not a real threat. Sure, it works on an isolated island during a storm, but when you start going beyond that, trying to have them be some sort of domestic threat, that can somehow rival the military, it just doesn’t work. A T-Rex, no matter how terrifying in stature, just doesn’t stand a chance against an armoured vehicle that can fire lethal projectiles. Even just soldiers with guns can realistically kill a T-Rex with no real issues. It just doesn’t work and requires too much suspension of disbelief.

Now that would be a movie I'd watch
        >Tucker and Dale vs Evil style setup where a group of scientists and environmentalists study "wild" dinosaurs in a remote location in the southern US
        >two rednecks keep hunting and killing the dinosaurs the eggheads want to study, making them appear like stereotypical "evil hunter" characters
        >it turns out the dinosaurs are a fricking menace because they are big, wild, often carnivorous animals that kill off local wildlife, cattle and people
        >Them city folk wouldn't love them reptiles so much if they'd seen what happened to my ma's flock of billy goats, or uncle bob...

The problem is that none of the films since the first one are written as intelligently. There are real questions about the power of genetic manipulation and whether humans are yet responsible enough to harness it. The second movie also had ethical questions about conservation, but they were too on the nose and kind of annoying.
