For me it's Bong Joon Ho. Memories of Murder is his only good film. The rest are way overrated.

The strange way everyone but tug talks is supposed to emulate the strangeness of noir narration and "fast talking" but modernized.
It's the opposite of blue velvet in all the right ways.

I think Mother is good. But I do sort of agree, I don't think his other films are super bad but he def peaked with MoM
