See, if nobody paid for it, they would stop making shows and movies. So if everyone was a pirate, that wouldn't be sustainable. It's the same with ad blockers. I use an ad blocker, but I wouldn't want everyone to use one, because then websites would shut down or start hiding content behind paywalls.

It's so easy to just stream things online, in fact it's more convenient than torrenting or paying for a subscription too.

I've been pirating a lot more which probably is due to it being more convenient now. It's funny cause I don't actually think about it. As before pirating simply wasn't brought up since Netflix had it all. I still don't regularly pirate music since spotify hasn't been total shit and it's still extremely convenient. But when shows are split between 7 streaming platforms all with their own login, subscription (now with ads lmao), like give me a fricking break you israelites.

in 30 seconds i can start up a torrent and just start downloading the movie/show

The problem with piracy is in the grand scheme of things
Yes, if only a few took advantage of piracy there is no 'problem' in theory, but if most of them start using piracy, the product would no longer be sustainable and so it would end; so what you have is a small portion of thieves taking advantage of other people's money. Imagine if most people downloaded games via torrent instead of buying Nintendo games, would we have great games like BOTW and Mario Odyssey? Of course not, which is why companies like Nintendo and Disney need this war against piracy

Thing is I'm actually not susceptible to that shit because pretty much every ad I see immediately makes me actively ignore said products. To be fair though, I cook with natural foods, never participate in addictive behaviours (except for this shitty site from time to time), don't care about brands, and pirate the shit out of everything. If you pay attention to the world around you, you can easily be a smart consumer

            >I'm actually not susceptible to that shit
            >makes me actively ignore said products
Unironically, this means it's working. The goal of ads today isn't to make you buy specific products. It's to create rapport and brand awareness. Having heard of a company and seeing nice things to associate with them creates a favorable abstraction of that brand in your head, whether you actively notice it or not.

They don’t care whether you watch it.
As long as you help with social media engagement and helping to bump threads here. Your interaction is more important than viewership. Since viewership same day is no longer used at studios they look at social media engagement during the day of airing to see if there is interest.

Oy vey goyim 4 minutes of ads an hour isn't so bad. Who could possibly have a problem sitting through 5 minutes of ads. Our focus groups assured us 6 minutes of ads an hour is acceptable. You wont even notice sitting through 7 minutes of ads. After sitting through 8 minutes of ads an hour you'll say "its still not as bad as basic cable, I think". Some of you may start to question why you're paying to sit through 9 minutes of ads, but I can assure only a transphobic, colonizing, NAZI would complain about sitting through 10 short minutes of ads and frick those people am I right? ;^)
