Why would artists agree so sell their pitch? Sure they must see how little leverage that gives them. In gaming people pitch things to studios all the time and they don't give up ownership, if they needed to borrow money for the pilot then the studio would own the pilot but not the characters. Who would go to Nickelodeon knowing that?
I imagine many of them still have some kind of hope that if they do so they'll make their big break into the industry. A network as large as Nick must be pretty enticing. Though by the looks of it, it's strange how many of these pilots and shorts that Nick buys for a few years only to do nothing with it and let it go. Half the time it feels like they're just paying to advertise the show for when Disney or Cartoon Network picks it up when their time with it runs out. I just don't get their tactics here.

I think what Loud House got right that the other shows clearly inspired by it get wrong is having distinct characters in terms of design and visuals. Even if that show isn't good either, it got popular because it had fun and distinct characters, to which toddlers can attach themselves to. You could potentially see a whole show where either of the children from the family (except the baby I guess) could be the start of their own show. This one and Casagrandes fail to do that.

The frick are you talking about? Disney fostered these shows BECAUSE they were aiming to tell serialized narratives. But long-form, serialized kids' cartoons still have greater restrictions of their own that [live-action] adult serials don't need to abide by. I'm sure the executives were fine with Amphibia and The Owl House telling overarching stories, but at the end of the day, each show still needs to have some rewatchability so it can perform well on reruns or continue to have decent streaming numbers from viewers who'd like to pick & choose their favorite episodes to watch again.
Neither of these shows were streaming exclusives, so they still had to function as cartoons that can air reruns in any random order on broadcast TV. Even then, both Amphibia and The Owl House's less plot-heavy episodes still had some good character exploration or worldbuilding. Plot is cool and all, but what matters most is having interesting characters and fun episode premises regardless of how they fit into the narrative. Quit calling everything filler and just say you don't like cartoons.

You dummy. The core of the show was always about Anne finding herself thanks to the friends she made with this humble farming frog family. There were themes of change explored for all three girls, but the focus always remained on Anne specifically. It was the Plantars who gave her that push out of her comfort zone, and I feel like the people who dismiss any episodes not centered on Sasha/Marcy as "filler" really underestimate how important the Plantars are to the overall story.
My defense for Season 1's slower development would basically be a retread of the previous paragraph, but I shouldn't even have to defend Season 2. It did SO MUCH. As for Season 3, it put even greater focus on Anne's growth and how her relationship with the Plantars is stronger than ever.
It's the creator themselves that states disney refuses storylines and "double" 22 minutes episodes. Go lick those boots back on twitter.

Sprig's characterization was set in stone at Reunion and then he was basically written off after that only to be brought back whenever they needed to remind everyone that him and Anne were best friends (despite them having like 2 total solo adventures in S2 and 3).

Their heritage is also tied to the backstory that literally kickstarts the events of the show and its major antagonist.
Finally they're literally the emotional crux of the finale.

Hamster & Gretel is right there. The titular characters are a girl and her pet hamster, sure, but it seems like the actual main premise of the show revolves around the strange dynamic between a brother and sister yeeears apart, with the younger sister's newfound superpowers making things even more awkward between them.
And I'd argue Moon Girl, Owl House, and Molly McGee all look pretty distinct from one another. Same for Hamster & Gretel. Of the three main family-friendly animation networks, Disney's got the most visual variety. The trend of teen girl protagonists is definitely a thing, though, but it doesn't make the shows feel THAT identical.

Daily reminder that for a Serialized show to really hit it off it needs to have a lot of none plot focused ''''filler'''' episodes to let the characters breathe and bring the audience round before going into the story content. There is a reason why the majority of Season 1 of Amphibia and Owl house did this.
Because of this i'd argue that out of the 2 main Serialized shows presented here, Haileys on it and Dragon Strikers, Haileys on it will probably succeed more just on the basis that the shows plot of completing some sort of pseudo bucket list really lends itself to this Serialization structure that helped both Amphibia and Owl house prior. This movie series animated shorts is still a thing?
Well, if this one's gonna be animated like the miniseries of the same franchise, then I'm not gonna watching. I'm not a fan of this movie.

That's the other part that surprised me. I didn't think they'd get the actors to do those shorts either. I always kind of assumed animated series based on a movie always came with an entirely different cast to do the voices. Except for maybe one or two characters that didn't do much in the movie originally.
Well Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure brought back Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi who are know for Films and the only replacements was the VAs of Rapunzel's Mother and Father, however the entire film cast returned.
That makes me want a Zootopia series by Disney TVA after Zootopia+ since the latter is just shorts. since they could also bring the ogs back
I haven't cared for any of the DCOMs in years, but knowing both Jack Ferraiolo and Aliki T. Grafft of Phineas and Ferb fame are behind this makes me at least a little curious.

CN flopped after A&T took over most of the anons who leaked stuff from CN moved to Disney.
CN didn't announce any new shows (other than that Wacky Races thing we didn't even get a pic of) and this thread has a shitton of leaks in it. I'm sure if there was a thread with someone leaking the next 3 years of WB/CN cartoons it'd get as much traffic
