I do sometimes too, but then I visit my parents who still watch regular TV all day long. And it fricking sucks ass. Only garbage on all channels so you end up watching some ancient scifi/sitcom shows or documentaries. And ad breaks every 20 minutes or so.

It's fricking impossible to find anything; the catalogue on there is actually insanely huge but you wouldn't know it due to how shit the app is at showing you what's on offer. Your only options are the homepage (which shows a tiny random selection) or the movies/shows tabs which list a few dozen offerings in alphabetical order and that's it. Every single streaming service is like this, if you don't already know exactly what it is you want to watch then you're never going to find anything worth watching. Disney+ is the exact same shit. You'd think with how much money these services rake in they'd spend a little of it curating content based on your tastes, like Spotify does for example. But no. Here's our latest cheap slop and if you don't like it frick you.

I pirate almost everything I watch but I used to enjoy using Netflix back when it was pretty much the only service because it was good at recommending stuff I wouldn't have sought out on my own. I don't always know what I want to watch, I want to browse like I'm in Blockbuster. That was the draw of a streaming service with a large catalogue: if you didn't know what to watch you could find something pretty easily. But now that's no longer the case, all of them are just trying to push their own original content (which is usually trash) while burying all of the classic movies and shows that don't help sell their brand.
e.g. I managed to find Speed on Paramount+, which I had never seen and ended up watching, and it got me thinking what other classic action movies are on there. But could I find them? Frick no. There was a tiny selection in the "more like this" tab and most of them were completely unrelated. It's a joke of a service.

I pay for Hulu so I can watch Family Guy, American Dad, and King of the Hill on a loop.
I used to watch Seinfeld too but that moved to Netflix so now I have it downloaded on my PC and run it through Plex.
Hulu is one of the few I haven't got rid of cause of the Fox catalog, still hate the idea of giving my shekels to Disney tho. HBO stays cause of the CN shows and Curb, but I'm pissed that none of the EEnE specials are on there, frick Amazon Prime. Still gonna cancel those once I move out, my mom will just watch whatever stupid thing the algorithm recommends to her. The gold age of streaming was what, like 10 years ago, and it took us until 2017 or 18 to cancel DirecTV and switch over cause our Internet used to be God awful out here. Feels bad man

The worst part about cable is that there's no longer ANYTHING new shown on regular TV, it's the same old shows having reruns over and over and over again.
There's no longer any comfy just sitting in front of the TV and watching a new show or new episode.
The good thing about TV is just sitting down, turning it on and not having to put any more thought to it more than maybe swapping channels. With streaming services you pretty much have to already know what you want to watch before starting it up, so you might as well just pirate it.
