So are they just going to have her voiced by some black person because all nonwhites are the same or are they actually going to bother getting an Eskimo or Inuit or """First Nation"""?

Dunno these corporates are getting really picky. Probably won't know till the Korra film.

You got a source for Janet Varney saying she’s not gonna voice Korra anymore?

        Source?

        https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.inverse.com/entertainment/legend-of-korra-janet-varney-anniversary/amp
        >At this point, Varney pauses, as if deep in thought.

        >“I wouldn't want to be the voice,” she says after a moment of silence. “I think I brought to it everything I could from my experience. And there are many, many things that I relate to. I also feel like there's just way more diversity in voice acting now than there was then, and I would love to see that expressed. I can only assume that’s something that's important to Mike and Brian because they are so passionate about telling diverse stories and they're so passionate about being as authentic as possible.”

        >She continues: “So I'm happy to have been this Korra. I certainly am showing up for Avatar Studios as a fan, and I'm ready to talk about it forever with Dante on the [Avatar: Braving the Elements] podcast — as myself.

That’s a shame, she was really good.
I’m not sure if she really wants that or if she knows 2022 Twitter will rip her apart for being a white woman voicing a dark skinned one. It’s dumb but hopefully the next VA can do a decent job

Since when is voice acting about diversity?

Since the studios looked to destroy the actors unions because they're still seething for the huge salary the Simpsons's VAs got

Damn it, I liked her voice. To me the voice is the character, no matter what.

I honestly think Avatar should've ended as a franchise with the finale of the original series. Not even sperging out over Korra or the comics, it just could've ended on the highest of all notes.

Imagine if this happened in ATLA
Like in the final episode after Katara hugs Aang she turns around walks over to Suki and the both of them kiss.

I lost all hope in this franchise after the film and Korra especially after seeing the comics. My expectations of the new live action show and animated films are rock bottom.

Korra had 3 okay seasons and 1 of the worst seasons of television ever.
What is a larger red flag are the comics which started out with an intresting story and took a nosedive into full blown moronic territory for years with no signs of stopping.
