it's honestly his best, miyzaki can't make a good ending to save his life, but ponyo manages to have a concise and satisfying one that sticks to the damn plot and themes of the last 90 minutes.
plus the water spout escape/running scene is pure liquid kino

Movie is fine but her as a character is just loud and annoying as kids typically are. This isn’t really a fault of the writing but is pretty grating.
