No, I just look at number of review averages. The individual reviews dont matter. The aggregate will generally let you know if its any good. Then I wait ten years and go off what random internet strangers say is “based.”
Only ones I’m not interested in so I can discuss the film if it ever comes up in normoid wagey chatter.
Also if I love a movie and want to consoom more content about it like Top Gun.
This is the right idea. >It's fucking shit!
It's a good movie that the masses enjoy >It's underated kino!
It's usually a pretty below average film which deserves no real praise
I pay attention to the current the reviews are moving in (if the movie is good or bad, or if critics like it but audiences hate it/vice versa). I don't listen to one singular person and take their opinion as gospel.
But the other woman wanted to let Kane back onto the ship, both the female officers wanted different things to the given situation. Hindsight is all good and all but if you're crew member/friend is dying you'd want to do all you can to save their life.
That other woman is also acting hysterical throughout the rest of the movie after that and Ripley isn't some turbo feminist who's bossing people around while being blatantly ignored. Liberals having selective memory is nothing new though so I'm not surprised.
I follow a few relevant guys and also I'm lucky to be french so that I can read les cahiers du cinéma, that has helped me a lot.
You can then see if your interpretation of a film is not cretinous, and you learn to enjoy new genres and directors.
It's good to read about a film preemptively, you're more alert when viewing it.
But thats not even what happens lol. The captain listens, he just has to do his duty. The crew doesn't want to do it either but its in their contract. Its the corp using them as fodder and the android enforcing it. This homosexual and his wife couldn't even make a gay "anti capitalist" statement they went straight to generic strong woman and cat statement. How does one fail so hard?
Not really, I've never found a reviewer whose opinion I always agree with, but I often agree with Mike (but not Jay) from RLM, Critical Drinker, and E;R, so if they like something and I think it sounds interesting I'll check it out, but if they say it's bad I won't necessarily ignore the film - they were all wrong about Moonfall for example, which is awesome. I'll also buy pretty much any movie I can find on blu ray for under $2 and watch it regardless of what kind of reviews it got.
any "person" that starts a post or sentence with 'sooooooo' should be hanged. it's sad how much the english language is being raped by nigs and fags w/ twitter speak
>talking to woman or gay man at work >cannot take anything they say seriously because they take dicks in their mouth and ass >disregard their opinions and any threats they ever make, because automatically see them as submissive weaklings >see woman or gay on tv or in movie >they are acting tough or "badass" >remember that later on they will be getting penetrated by someone in their mouth or ass willingly >cannot take scene seriously
>alien is a movie, where two hardworking ship engineers, dying on the job, and getting fucked out of a performance bonus, by a faceless mega corporation.
No. Why should I care what others think? Most people are idiots and shouldn't be allowed to voice their opinions. I will glance at the IMDB score of movies I have not heard of out of curiosity orbit in trying to decide between a few choices, but it doesn't dictate if I watch something.
That's not even what happened in the movie - in the movie Ash opens the airlock to contravene the quarantine order because he's following Special Order 937. Everyone else is panicking in the moment, but it's Ash who actually does it, and not because he's not listening to the smart woman.
Also once Dallas dies and Ash goes crazy, Lambert and Parker follow Ripley's plan to escape without complaining or trying to undermine her. They die because the Alien shows up and ruins everything.
This is exactly how every single review is written on letterboxd and why the site is so obnoxious
either that or written to be procomunist or gay or some shit
the only reviews worth reading are the ones written by my best friends, schizoid virgins on Cinemaphile (including myself)
I wait at least a year after the movie released or the TV show ended. If people are still talking about it and recommending it a year later then I might check it out. Otherwise, it was probably just another generic boring over-hyped product that in the end is totally forgettable. And for TV shows it's good to hear if it ends like shit like Game of Thrones, which I will now never watch knowing how badly they fucked it up.
There was also nothing that indicated Ripley was the heroine. Her survival was determined by good luck and being saved by the alien going after other people instead. Her only heroic moment is as sole survivor, suiting up and sneaking around the dropship to hit the purge switch.

Imagine IMAGINE listening to women, fictional or otherwise
Only ones I’m not interested in so I can discuss the film if it ever comes up in normoid wagey chatter.

nope never not even once
I ask for Cinemaphiles opinion then do the opposite
this is honestly the best thing to do
This is the right idea.

If that puts his reviews to shame, he isn't very good at his job
Hicks listened to the smart woman and then got acid on his face
I've increasingly been appreciating jav cinema where the father secretly cuckolds his son and impregnates his own daughter-in-law

>the other woman (male)
Lambert was a woman right?
ask Jim Cameron
Never heard of this loser. He taking esteogen pills?
right
Why did his character keep talking about the ethics of being a repo man the entire time? I mean the movie was about an alien.
based harry dean stanton cinematic universe poster

No
Pre-internet film critics were wannabe snobs
Current film critics are wannabe eCelebs who want good boy points
>reviews movies for 10 years
>doesnt know the difference between a review and a synopsis
Film criticism died with Roger Ebert.
I follow a few relevant guys and also I'm lucky to be french so that I can read les cahiers du cinéma, that has helped me a lot.

>Soooooo
Um, so yeah, errr, okaaay, you know nothing worth listening to is coming after that.
Ripley gets dunked on by the rest of the crew (including a woman) because she doesn't want to abolish protocol in favor of emotions.
I don't know how you make this a sexism issue.
hahah what a homosexual. he talks like teenage girl
That's not a review, that's a quip
No never
If something gets a lot of threads on here and sounds interesting I might pirate it that's it.
But thats not even what happens lol. The captain listens, he just has to do his duty. The crew doesn't want to do it either but its in their contract. The android is played by a male actor so that means he's a misogynist!

Yeah, or how it gets raped and sullied by all of those dishonorable chink-posters that have swarmed the board recently.
sooooooooo he lives in a pineapple under the sea
Only armond white, no point in reading any other
Alien is a movie where nobody discusses the bonus situation. Right. And then they all die. Right.
>talking to woman or gay man at work
>cannot take anything they say seriously because they take dicks in their mouth and ass

she wanted to write pussy so bad lol. Fucking immature brat.
>Soooooo
woman
written by a man
>alien is a movie, where two hardworking ship engineers, dying on the job, and getting fucked out of a performance bonus, by a faceless mega corporation.
Do you guys think his wife lets him watch or does he peek through the hole?
But more importantly no one listened to the black man and they all died with no bonus to pass on to their inheriters
>Do you read or listen to reviews prior to seeing a movie?
no
Anyone who writes reviews for everything they watch is fucking pathetic
That review was very very clearly paid for
No. Why should I care what others think? Most people are idiots and shouldn't be allowed to voice their opinions. I will glance at the IMDB score of movies I have not heard of out of curiosity orbit in trying to decide between a few choices, but it doesn't dictate if I watch something.

I bet you think a woman has to watch a movie in order to review it.
Also once Dallas dies and Ash goes crazy, Lambert and Parker follow Ripley's plan to escape without complaining or trying to undermine her. They die because the Alien shows up and ruins everything.
I don't even understand why critics exist. I really don't see the point of reviews at all.
Phone tell me if movie have wrongthink
Funny because the roles in Alien were not gendered, and actors not chosen for being a man or woman. Just how it ended up
>nobody listens to her
They literally do
This is exactly how every single review is written on letterboxd and why the site is so obnoxious

>writing for 10 years
>openly admit that the past 10 years of your life a nobody could do
why would you do this?
>Sooooo
Stopped paying attention.
>film critic
Turned out it was the right move.

You are the wise one.
I do the same. I just wait longer than one year
He should have beaten her for mocking his livelihood.
What is this type of man called?
Imagine making a movie with explicitly non-gendered roles only for idiots to make it about their gender any way.
Bet his wife fucks all his friends

>Sooooo
What an absolute fairy
No.
All critics are shills and all audience is biased and stupid.
