This. Everyone praises the books but I think the idea of the white walkers and pretty much every plot point surrounding them was/is the worst part of the show and books. Honestly the fantasy elements of the show are pretty shit in general. If it was just a show about medieval politics it would have been great.
The White Walkers affecting the political shit would have been great but what happened in the show was just: >Cersei saying nope lol, they will handle it.
And that was it.

I was certain you would be among them.” >“Our knees do not bend easily,” said Ser Frogfu. >“Ser Rickonbro is fled to /y/, with that boy he swears he didn't molest. I thought you might have sailed with him.” >“Ser Rickonbro is a shitposter and true,” said Ser Buttbawd. >“But not of the Waifuguard,” Ser Firefu pointed out. “The Waifuguard does not flee.” >“Then or now,” said Ser Frogfu. He donned his helm. >“We swore a vow,” explained old Ser Firefu. >Stannismod's janitors moved up beside him, with shadow banhammers in hand. They were seven against three. >“And now it begins,” said Ser Frogfu, the Sword of Firsts. He unsheathed Ellie_shopping.gif and held it with both hands. Her skin was pale as milkglass, alive with light. >“No,” Stannismod said with sadness in his voice. “Now it ends.”
There's a LOT of good in those first six seasons. They're not flawless by any stretch, but it felt like a story that knew where its plot and its character arcs were all heading and then S7 and S8 came along and it just... didn't.
If there'd been some terrible accident or something on set and a bunch of the main cast had been killed or injured and the rest of the series were canned it'd probably be remembered as an almost perfect series cut tragically short instead of a promising show that ended in the biggest wet fart in modern television history.
Some people say season 7, some say season 4, I think season 2 was week and didn't really set up the conflicts very well. And by the time we got to the "Dicking around in Dorne" arc with Jamie, the whole thing was done.
The Dorne shit was definitely weak and there were a bunch of other little arcs that went nowhere, but the whole overarching plot of S6 (while not perfect) felt like it was really focusing everything - all the different character arcs were starting to converge and you could almost see where things were going to go - and then all of it got subverted and warped.
>The Dorne shit was definitely weak
Dicking around in Dorne was more than weak, it was absolutely ridiculous. You have a whole new area with which to get into political intrigue with, with the family of a dead popular character. And instead it went dumb and went no where. To me it represents all the issues going forward. Them having to stuff main characters in areas they shouldn't be, ignoring consequences and just springing shit up.
There's a scene in the first season where annoying drunk dwarf is talking to his dad while he was butchering a stag. It was a strong visual metaphor that didn't go out of its way to draw attention to itself.
I don't think there's a single bad Tywin scene in the series. Even his deleted scenes are great. There's one I'm always bummed got cut where he talks with Pycelle and they both cut the bullshit and lay all their cards on the table and it's a great scene.

She turned 18 the night before the booba scene just sayin'.

the jumpcut to Dany getting railed by aquaman made me laugh way harder than it should have on first view
The political intrigue. Frick the white walkers.

Her bet paying off and then finishing off the weakened survivors and winning would have been a good real politic ending.
Perhaps, if there was set up and pay off. She blows up the Sept with basically zero issue or problem. Nothing has consequence after a while with it.
All the naked womens in the first few seasons
Season 4 was carried by the hound, and season 6 was only bearable for his scenes
?t=122
The music was top notch
I've tried getting into this show and the books but medieval fantasy is just so boring to me.
it's more a medieval and classical fanfiction with breasts than anything
bobbyposting
The Lannisters had the best actors in the show and Tywin's three children were all wasted after his death.
I miss the waifu posting.
