They didn't had access to the other Toho kaijus because Toho themselves liscence them individually. So it's basically a "bootleg", just how that cartoon's Firebird is Bootleg Rodan. The 99 cartoon sequel to the 98 movie had the exact same issue, to the point why it had "Cyber Godzilla" instead of the actual Mecha Godzilla.

I'm kind of surprised nobody has ever tried to make a Kaiju that is just bigger, Maybe because Godzilla is so big something bigger just feels absurd. But this is kind of hardcore a monster that is just bigger and stronger

I like someone actually defends Godzuki but jesus christ does he have a chip on his shoulders in regards to Zilla's animated series.

As much as I loved the show, a lot of the monsters were just "regular animal, but big with spikes and tumors." Though that isn't to say there weren't unique ones like C-Rex and the Crackler.

Although I don't disagree with you, that sort-of ugly Clasky-Csupo-esque artstyle they went for this and MIB: The Series kind of elevated the monsters beyond their simple concept, methinks.

This shit freaked me out as a kid, so rewatching the episode I was disappointed when it turned out to just be a single-scene hallucination and the actual monster scorpion was normal looking.

Yeah that's too bad. That's a great kaiju design; it has exactly the right moronic-to-cool ratio.

honestly it is impressive how they made such simple concepts so interesting with how deformed, gnarly and warped they took a baseline creature like a King Cobra, Rats or a Rhino. Though I find the Gila Monster...monster oddly cute in the series

Or big blobs with tentacles, though to their credit the did make all of those gooeys look distinct with unique powers.

I hate him, with a passion, that show was nearly passable if it weren't for that shit comedy relief character. Honestly I can enjoy scrappy do more than i can this waste of ink, paint, and celluloid

      >OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
like a god damn moron in the special olympics until Godzilla showed up.

I know WHY Godzuki exists, but it felt like even Godzilla in the show didn't like him.

His demeanor torwards Godzuki was no different than towards Minya in Son of Godzilla and Godzilla's Revenge. Just a sheer feeling of "I'm fricking disappointed that you and I are keen" in his reactions. Godzuki most likely is meant to be Minya, without paying Toho the rights for the character. Apparently Godzilla alone was pricy, they had to forego the roar whose rights are separate to the music composer's estate.

Did Cartoon Network actually pay for the roar in the commercial bumpers?

Turner had some sort of deal with Tristar around that time who got the Goji rights (roar included) as far back as early 1992.
In fact, the Godzilla sequel series to Zilla's movie aired in Turner channels like CN in many countries, too, so there's that.

Curiously, H-B Godzilla was dubbed in Japanese. It aired apparently on Tokyo Channel 12 and the dub added back the classic movie roar.

Ah, I also forgot TBS was actually also airing a couple Heisei and Showa movies around that time too, like Godzilla vs Biollante, so probably that had something to do, too, for the sake of TV promotion.

As a kid, everyone in my class thought Godzuki WAS Minya/Minilla. And the difference in appearance/relation was just a weird cartoon adaptation thing like Beetlejuice being a nice guy in the cartoon.
