Any writer of real worth wouldn't be dissuaded by this. They'd move on and find another job, because they can.

The fact of the matter is that most of these people are student council types who have coasted on following all the right rules and procedures to get where they are. I sincerely doubt most of them have actually really struggled to wind up on whatever bullshit Netflix or streaming lite app they've been taking a paycheck in from.

These are not real creatives. They are employees. Creatives make the world, and will always find a place, because they can build it themselves.

If you can't do that, don't go into a creative field.

It's not that simple, you're talking of an era long past.
Writers nowdays are little more than drones on demand with little imput on the show they're writing and no career avenues.

I think this is a fair point, and those rooms should be abolished, or at least not used so liberally.

There's also something in there, however, that Martin himself said---he had written a bunch of stuff, for like a decade, before becoming a television writer.

How many of these current writers are actually working on their own projects, actively? Or have written a substantial body of work before they get a job on a show? I know that they're "new," but even a new writer should have a good body of work to demonstrate. It doesn't even have to be official or published---it just has to be good. At this point, there's almost no excuse to not be at least self-published. Regardless of the connotation, even that at least shows that you enjoy the craft.

Maybe getting rid of the mini-rooms will narrow this bottleneck and introduce quality control again, however minimal it may be. It's just exhausting seeing such uncreative types get to major levels in what is ultimately an industry centered around storytelling. I know that's the sort of irony of Hollywood, but it doesn't mean that it can't change just a little.

      This
Also, they have had literally more than 10 years to get ahead of the streaming situation and ask for changes. Every employer wants to and does pay their employees the least amount of money they can. What makes writers any different from any other worker? Additionally, sometimes the world changes and moves on. For example, railroad workers are not paid or treated the same they were in early part of the 20th century. I think the streaming situation is a similar shift in the entertainment industry. The argument that they are "not paid a living wage" weakens their argument. "Living wage" is way too nebulous of a thing to use as any kind of bargaining point

    I am neutral.
Writers aren't all bad and the big wigs meaning pro-writers and producers kept their job and have just gonna be even more influence now.
    They are still pro poz..
Corpos and directors are uber pro poz.
Fledging writers are gonna be obliterated, regardless of poz.

Exactly, we are the consumers, we owe them nothing it's the other way around. If you Produce an inferior product that people don't want you don't get to attack people for not wanting something. It's why these people are always authoritarians politically, they think their better than everyone else and should be able to just tell their "lessers" what they should and shouldn't like.

AI can't have bias because it doesn't think. When you ask the AI *what song do you like or thingk is better*, it will give you a nonsense answer based off data it trawled, It has never listened to a real song, it's not giving you real opinions. Yeah I hate hollywood writer's too, hope they get fricked. But you AI tards are always good for a laugh. Like we all know AI can't hear, it can't see, it can't think. But you guys care about it's opinions. it can't listen to music, it literally cannot hear, but it will still give you a confident response, which music it likes better. Piss off, you tech bros and your dude bro toys are just as bad as the woke hollywood writers. The sad part is you people areincapable of creativity because of brainfog or having no minds eye so you dfon't even see a future where you yourself is the one telling stories or creating art.

Is right but it's not a good thing, all the cushy indoor fun jobs will be outsourced to AI while humans are left to do the toil cuck bad jobs that are underpaid and dangerous. The sad part is you brainwashed tards think it's a good thing because your mind is so stacked full of partisan bullshit.

        >heh libtards btfo no more humans will have well paid writing creative jobs, they have to toil cuck at a construction job like me!!!!!

Also adding to my post, hollywood writers are little more than stooges for the production company, you think those production companies are going to be using your "anti-woke and based chatgpt scripts" instead of automating their pozz up to 10? lmao.,.... Ai is a tool that can be used in anyway. You're delusional if you think woke hollywood and blackrock aren't pushing wokeness and as soon as those liberal writers are gone you guys are getting "Black person killer 9000" written by chatgpt in the theatres fricking lmao delusional.

      >Why the hell would they go on strike now of all times

It's because the union bosses play golf on the same grass as studio owners.
It's a way to get rid of people without payouts.
People don't realize this, but if studios are short on money, it also means less money for union bosses. Get rid of useless trash, help save costs, keep your profits.

Cowboy Bebop was always trash and the only people who liked it were morons who watched dubs and only had 3 shows total to choose from.
It barely has a plot, it's just lolrandom for 23 episodes then decides to force something at the very end.
It does have some great music.
The movie traced a Bruce Lee fight scene, and it's not even the only anime to trace that exact scene.

I would support the writers if it was people like Tarantino, Mamet, Sorkin and they were fighting against forced diversity and the huge absess of superhero films and remakes. But instead it's people like Adam Ruins Everything wanting to juice more money for doing pisspoor jobs or in most cases nothing at all.

This exactly. Tarantino isn't even WGA. These are mediocre hacks using commie tactics to squeeze more money out of their propaganda slop assembly line.
