He's funny, he has a comic accurate relationship with Batman, and the look is comic accurate as well.
It's a nice intro to the character.

no i'll actually give those to you, having israelitegled them i can see that the joker was quite physically fricked up
of course they have no canon status so that's about the only "no u" i can pull out but otherwise you did well

it’s a deleted scene dummy, you barely see his face in the theatrical

it is a deleted scene but it's still his canon appearance for the film, the scene was deleted because ultimately it plays out later on in the movie albeit in a different form, and matt wanted bruce to do more detecting rather than ask the joker for help, and on top of that since the joker wasn't meant to really be a part of the movie it gave more focus on riddler since he was the villain, but i'm sure in part 2 or 3 he'll be out in full regalia

I don't remember The Joker being in the new Batman. All I remember is feeling embarrassed for Paul Dano. I had to look up who played him in and it's the kid from Banshees of Inishirin/The Killing of a Sacred Deer. Weird looking guy and a great actor. I approve of this casting, but I haven't seen the performance.

Reminder that Reeves' initial plan was to create a shared Batman universe. We must remember that this film occurred just after the departure of Affleck and the Justice League .Warner wanted to erase that shit and Reeves immediately jumped like an upstart to DC in order to control it with his friend JJ.Fortunately it didn't happen.

Gunn has the power of DC, but to what extent? JJ's profile in Hollywood is bigger than James's and he is scandal-free.If the Superman reboot fails, it will be all for him.

JJ himself, i think, doesn't care at all about the DC nonsense. He accepted the gig to develop shit for DC, be it for film or TV, but since he accepted the money his studio didn't come up with shit. They were literally pressured into doing SOMETHING after news about how much they were paid came out.

If you are not interested artistically, but JJ is a producer (he doesn't do it that badly) and as a producer he is a damn mercenary. He is now doing hot wheels and stated that he wanted to work with the Harry Potter movies. He is not a very good director but he always runs after the money of the big IPs.

So in between the disastrous end of the DCEU and the "this is your last fricking chance you better get it right" debut of the Gunnverse, they're going to simultaneously develop a completely separate project that's essentially them competing with themsevles and confusing the plebs even further as to who's actually connected to what and which one is canon?

For frick's sake, just give JJ whatever quantity of shekels he'll accept to go away. Better to get extorted than undermine the entire future of your film division AGAIN. Maybe stop giving ratface directors blank checks while you're at tit?

          They are unable to.
See things like THE BATMAN 2, JOKER 2, and JJ's THE SUPERMAN are all projects that were signed and produced before Zaslav decided to hire Safran and Gunn to do whatever they want to do with the DC IP.
So even if Safran and Gunn wanted they can't do shit. Under contract these projects can and will come out. Specially because money were already spent on them.

The Snydercut was released by HBO Max when the streaming service went alone, was available on in the United States, and had very little subscribers.

Compared to The Batman, which was released when HBO Max streaming service was available worldwide and had grown considerable its subscribers count.

Contracts can be amended or canceled if both parties agree to it. JJ can probably force these things to happen, yes. But considering that the new regime didn't want this he's going to be fighting an uphill battle all the way and it's probably not worth it just for the privilege of shitting out some between-universe alt version whose long-term prospects are dead in the water before it even gets released.

Unless he really, really just wants to make a Superman movie regardless of context then I imagine getting paid for doing nothing will seem like an acceptable alternative. All disputes can be resolved with enough money

This is what happens when you are basically just doing the same shit over and over but still somehow want each iteration to be unique. You have to beat the dead horse harder every time and eventually you're trying so hard the thing is almost unrecognizable from its original state.

Given the point of absurdity we've already reached I shudder to think what things might look like 2 or 3 Jokers from now but by then I think the whole genre will have imploded and they'll back off for a while.=

its the directors and mostly warners fault. a lot of nolanesque realism, but not the intelligence (not even midwittery) to pull it off, a lot of BLM pandering and a lot of bad acting aside from Penguin, which is really the only reason to watch the film but you might as well just watch his scenes on youtube or something. the movie literally felt like a waste of time. rather watch the DCAU movies, Year One is a decent adaption that covers similar ideas this movie tried but failed AND that one is barely an hour long, get in, get out.
