I only recently watched all of BB a couple of months ago and while it was indeed pretty good, I felt people overhyped it so much. The final episode, which is supposed to be "The best season finale of all time" feels almost like a dying fantasy of Walt's in how it just so neatly resolves things in Walt's favor. It doesn't hold a candle to the ending of The Shield.
I don't really think I can remember the show being woke at any point.

I really thought they were building to this with the cat scene. Disappointed that they decided he just wanted to empathise with the killer who was talking about watching the light go out of the eyes.
One of the writers wanted Dutch to be revealed as a serial killer right at the end of the show, but he was overruled. I think that's for the best. It would have just been there for cheap shock value and would have completely undermined Dutch's character.
i was hoping that his obsession with serial killers and trying to get into their mindset would make him into a killer at some point

Yeah, except for Josh Bernthal, The Shield is by far the better telling - even not actually being about it.
I tried watching it but it's so frickin boring and trying to be The Wire but it's not.
I had to stop watching because of how frequently they used the words "Armenian money train (robbery)" together. Surely there was a briefer way to refer to it, like why not just say "The Op" or something?
Also, the idea that Michael Chiklis is supposed to be tough is laughable. He's short with a big belly and noodly arms. Still had some great moments though like Dutch catching the serial killer
