I gotta wonder what both Craig and Genndy are thinking since they let this idiot run both of their first CN shows and aparently his abuse of female artists goes back to the early 2000s

He probably wanted to work on their stuff so he can get away with how much he can shoving his incest stuff in their work.

It's what I would've done, but I dont treat casual industry blacklisting of collegues as a fun game like he did.

I dont think he was guilty. I think his original plan was for Luna to date sully. but Kevin introduced this new character called Sam and tricked the audience by throwing a fricking curveball.

It all depends on context which we don't have. It's one of those things that can sound really stupid on paper, but in actuality may be worse than you could think.
That woman who sued McDonalds for serving coffee that was too hot was made to look really stupid by the press. It's only somewhat recently that pictures have come out where you can see the absolute destruction that coffee caused and the term "fused labia" has been used which is a whole fricking level of awful. Despite all this, people still like to point to this case as an example of frivolous lawsuits.
I'm a guy and I can imagine a situation where having to have a meeting in an office with this dude with really dim lighting would be frighteningly uncomfortable especially if it's paired with other behavior that suggests he's sexually interested.

        Yeah.

Even if he didn't do it, the way he presented himself wouldn't really do him any favors.

I'd buy that if it wasn't for the fact that the accusing side of the conversation has dominated the narrative on this since day one.

He kinda caved pretty easily, though. If he had said he was pressured, he would have said so by now.

He didn’t cave. It was well known in the industry for many years, even his friends knew he was a creep. The only reason he was never fired or got in trouble earlier is because Nickelodeon swept that stuff under the rug. Also, Savino tried to deny it for as long as he could, it wasn’t until a large large group of women came together (with tons of evidence) to take him down. He was an actual problem.

Between Savino and John K, they were genuine examples of really fricked up people given positions of power because of their hard work and talent. Unfortunately, that’s not all it takes to be in leadership. Few people can really handle power that well. Business executives get away with fricked up harassment even more and they have way more power than cartoon showrunners. That being said, what Savino and Kricfalusi did was inexcusable and incomparable. They both really deserve to be blacklisted for life. What they did was total abuse of power and control. They didn’t rape anyone but they did horribly frick up some people’s lives, others were already mentally damaged and weak and were easier targets for John/Chris. It all blew up in their face in the end.

I'm not saying he isn't, I think he was. I'm just trying to see the other side, and what I see from there is someone who is rather poorly trained in dealing with his colleagues professionally.

It really doesn't look good for him either way.

Hey atleast Savino never groomed pre-teen girls, I would not put him on the same level of Kricfaluci

He did do it. Nobody has ever been banned from the animation union, dead and buried like Savino. The stories were that he would message female colleagues on Instagram or through text to get them to have sex with him or send him nudes. Sometimes he would offer business opportunities, but when they rejected him (which was 100% of the time) he would get insecure and worried about his wife finding out so he would threaten their career.

He was a self-serving butthole who was probably in a loveless marriage. Totally mistook admiration for his work and position for actual attraction. It’s typical nerd incel shit. Some women just tried to playfully end his advances as not to upset him or risk their career, since he they thought he could ruin their opportunities.

The reality is, these artists and showrunners can’t hurt people’s careers, at least not by much at all. Executives can blacklist you though, and they only do that if you piss them off. That being said, Savino targeted young women and some who appeared young. The actual young ones were more vulnerable and unsure of how to handle his overt sexual comments, older ones are the ones who finally said something.

Here’s a subtle but weird example for you: On the Loud House, Savino liked two of the attractive female interns and wanted them on his show. He then requested that they be seated outside his office in his line of vision. Interns don’t do work for showrunners, they work for producers, it was purely so he could creepily stare at them. Other examples are him laying awake at night jerking off while his wife was asleep trying to convince some female employees whose number he had to come out and sleep with him.
