A couple years ago it really benefited from Marvel and DC leaving Diamond as well as the success from Invincible and Walking Dead. Also it's the third largest publisher and should still be about 10% of the market share. So I'd say it's still doing good.
But third biggest comic publisher is like being the third smartest moron.
A reminder that Demon Slayer singlehandedly outsold all of Western comics combined in 2020, which means Image is 10% of the market that was outsold by a single manga.
>people heard it was going to be an anime so consoomies purchased the book to put on their shelves
Ok but what about actual readers? You know people who like comics
>Image publish a comic that sold more than other indies > Milk the author >They unironically believe they will became the 2nd publisher >The hype end
The worst offend was the post flashpoint/Marvel now era , I remember readers who seriously believed that it could happen(and I think Kirkman made that manifesto in that era?)
who cares
Yeah, but not a lot. Kinda sad really because these guys shit on DC like it's nothing.

Didn't ANN debunk that?
No.
Not east vs west, I'm simply stating that 10% of a market that was entirely outsold by a single manga IP is not a lot.

>they're still coping that Demonslayer outsold the entire capeshit industry
Dude, we're just tired of Cinemaphile tourists spamming East vs West threads
I'm not an Cinemaphile tourist but it's funny to watch capeshitters cope with the fact that Demonslayer outsold their entire collective industry.
I'm not a capeshitter
I'd rather see Cinemaphile discuss comics that aren't capeshit than have another East vs West circlejerk

Demon Slayer outsold the entire comic industry with Scholastic comics included, anon.
>He's still coping about Dogman
lmao
Pics or it didn’t happen
Japan's printing industry is a vastly healthier than Bugerland in general
This extends to everything including newspapers and magazines

>IDW loses money
You'd think that with their Sonic comics they be pulling ahead, huh
Sonic does not sell as well as you'd assume
It's disproportionately pirated more than it's bought and it's not even IDW's best seller
That'd be TMNT
thats a real shame, some good talent gets put to use in those books.
homies be pirating everything and making fun of anyone who buys a comic, then whine about their favorite books being canceled

Invincible trades got a sales boost and Saga came out of hiatus so I'd say yeah
The Department of Truth also does well both in singles and trades
>is still in business with spawn being in the 300’s
Gee I wonder…
Image is doing pretty well, Kirkman alone has been a huge moneymaker for them.
More than IDW.
