Does snuff porn actually exist?

Everyone knows snuff is an urban myth. A bogieman invented when, well… how did it come to pass?

Until I saw this documentary I was sure there was a movie called ‘Snuff’ made in South America and mistakenly taken for real in Europe. Turns out I’m full of shit. Truth is the legend began with the murder of Sharon Tate by Charles Manson, rumored to have been filmed and then hidden, and grew as people started to cash in by making (terribly cheesy) films purporting to show murder.

The FBI define ’snuff’ as movies which are commercially distributed, designed to sexually gratify, and contain murder for the purpose of production value. Filming a death doesn’t count unless the person’s been killed in order to make the movie possible, and the movie’s then sold on.

The most famous "video nasty" of my childhood, Faces of Death, claims to show real killings -- but this isn’t snuff. Most would say it’s not snuff because it’s all fake but the truth is more depraved. Faces of Death contains real film of deaths which has been sexed-up with inserts and cut scenes to add drama.

If you find any of this half as morbidly fascinating as I do, find 47 minutes and watch the doc below. Truly pornducational and less exploitative than you’d think.

Ah, Faces of Death… how it taunted me as a youth whenever I traveled to my favorite video store. I eventually talked my mother into renting it (the first one)… yeah, that was fun viewing there.

Hmmm… does filming porn right next to the body of a freshly-killed (and filmed) animal count as snuff? I would think so, even if the animal isn’t human. Once again, I find it odd that people would get off on such a thing, but the internet tends to bring out the deviate in a person.

(I’m too lazy/apathetic to Google the website(s?) that show(ed) the hunt & frick stuff, but I’ve seen it and… wow.)

I’ve seen that too, I believe on YouTube. I’d say animals don’t count because their death isn’t a crime. However I’m not the kind of sicko who’d wank to footage of a murder so I could be wrong. Of course, if you killed a Panda and then fricked beside it we’d have a debate.

I wonder about the kind of person that would frick next to a fresh carcass, but I wonder even more about the kind of person that would allow herself to be filmed doing that.

When you put it that way it could just be akin to having sex in a butchers shop. I think the weirdness is the thrill from the kill. I have no problem with meat but I’m not turned on by (most) sausage.
