The gay dude. Not Mark's friend and Donald. Both cheated death via robot bodies. Stick in moral limbo pf how do keep going on knowing you essentially died. The answer like everything in life is you just have to keep trucking on.

          >The gay dude. Not Mark's friend
OK so why include it. They're not important. Thats like giving a random passerby a "touching" moment because you wanna put a message about being gay in it

William is a prominent character, he's Mark's best friend. His boyfriend just almost got killed, and he had to be turned into a cyborg because of it.
Why not take some time to develop their relationship a bit? It's a good thing for superhero stories to establish what goes on with the civilians caught in the crossfire after the day is saved.
I'm wondering how he'll react to knowing that Sinclair is the one who helped fix him up.

yeah who would ever use tertiary characters' life experiences to flesh out the world of the comic/cartoon and try to make a broader point

William is going to be a superhero. Even if you didn't read the comics it's very clearly being set-up.

I have a theory that Rick is being set up to become the replacement for Tech Jacket.
I’m pretty sure the other characters that have been expanded/spared are also being set up to become replacements for copyright characters, like Rae being Witchblade

What people are failing to articulate is that the entire reasons William's Boyfriend matters is that his struggle and resolution is the finale for Donald's Arc showing that he has come to terms with who he is by helping another in the same situation.

Its like if they spent an episode having mark help another half Vilturmite abandoned by his parents. The Half-Vilturmite as a character doesn't matter as a individual character but as a watermark showing how far Mark has come in dealing with his own issues.

What purpose does William even serve?

    >shafted for Amber development
    >Mark doesn't give a frick about him, and has nothing in common with him, they don't even hang out
    >paired with a literally who that only exists to emphasize Donald's character

Can they make them seem like friends at least once before the narrative forgets about him permanently. What was the fricking point in having him around, if his friendship with Mark didn't feel natural.

Does he even know he's employed?

The stakes are insanely high right now and every scene that isn't about prepping for the Viltrumite invasion feels like a dumbass waste of time.
The central plot is large enough to be effecting every character, it should be the source of turmoil for everyone- at least tangentially.

The resolutions of all these plotlines is to deal with the coming viltrumite invasion. They still have a year.

Donald's "I'm a robot" crisis should be attached to the Reanimen being used by the GDA plot so his feelings of being a disposable tool like fricking mean something.
The Lizard League killing the Guardians is practically a non sequitur. The show feels like multiple unrelated plot threads- this was fine for season 1. But they established a looming threat now and it feels like no character (except Allen) is responding to it meaningfully.

The problem is that they only have 10 episodes to condense a long running series. It and X-men 97 needed more episodes to tell stories at decent pace but they don't have that.

I care, the series is written for me
The writers don't know me, I don't have Amazon and I don't plan to, but the series is written for me.

Glad? That's what you wanted to read gaygpt?

Traumatic kidnapping by mad scientist aside I just don't get the supposed trauma of simply being a cybrog. It's not like any of the replaced body parts don't work as well as the originals so it's not like they had to go through years of physical therapy or learn to cope with subpar prosthesis, both Rick and Donald just come across as ungrateful to be alive.

    >muh action scenes
    >muh blood
its more about donald seeking his own answers and sharing his experience. good writing. something you would not understand.
